Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, November 26, 2018

Eric C. Bauman has been a contentious figure from the start as leader of the California Democratic Party. He won after a tough fight with a more liberal competitor -- there were shouts of "not my chairman" as he gave his victory speech. And he has been criticized as being an old-school political boss, and as too mainstream for a party moving to the left. But Mr. Bauman is now facing the most serious threat to his leadership yet: allegations of sexual harassment and abuse. The anonymous charges, from California Democratic Party staff members, were filed with the party's leadership by Daraka Larimore-Hall, vice chairman of the Democratic Party. Mr. Larimore-Hall said in a statement on Saturday that he had learned of "multiple serious and credible allegations" that Mr. Bauman had sexually harassed and in some cases sexually assaulted people at party events. He said Mr. Bauman was involved in witness tampering as well.

"I believe the victims," he said. Mr. Larimore-Hall said he would not name them.

Mr. Bauman said in a statement that an outside law firm -- Churchwell White, based in Sacramento -- had been retained to investigate the allegations. "A prompt, thorough and independent investigation of the allegations has been undertaken by a respected outside investigator, ensuring these individuals making the charges are treated with respect and free from any concerns of retaliation," he said.

Not just the Democrats, but also the Republicans, and ...

It is not a political issue, it is a societal issue.

Once we stop politicizing this very significant problem within our society, we will be able to fix it.

Until you are willing to deal with Kavanaugh's sexual assaults kindly STFU Gracie.

Laur Laur Laur, Hardy Har Har, I thought you plonked me. You made such a big deal of doing so. You need lobotomy with that other operation. Maybe a BOGO? I don't make the news up (unlike you and Danni). I just post it via threads here. Now go away my little (very little) love sick puppy dog troll.

Allegations against Justice Kavanaugh were investigated, and it was determined that insufficient corroborative evidence existed to take any action against him. Since there is no one willing to make a criminal complaint against Justice Kavanaugh, what further actions do you recommend to deal with accusations against him?

"Allegations against Justice Kavanaugh were investigated"

Yeah...without talking to the sole named witness under oath.

"it was determined that insufficient corroborative evidence existed "

In related news, Devin Nunes' committee couldn't find any connection between Trump's campaign and the Russians.

Investigations aren't performed under oath. Why would you want this investigation to be different than any other investigation ever?

Seems as if you and that article want a criminal investigation where no criminal complaint has been made.
I ask again, what further actions do you recommend to deal with accusations against him?
If the answer is for someone to make a criminal complaint, then welcome to my position from months ago.

"Why would you want this investigation to be different than any other investigation ever?"

The same reason the job interview was different than any other. Because a lifetime SCOTUS nomination was on the line.

That job interview was performed as all the previous job interviews - following the rules set forth in the Senate. This one even resulted in a confirmation of the President's nomination by the Senate. Is that your actual problem, not with the procedure, but with the result?
Still not seeing any recommendation for dealing with allegations against Justice Kavanaugh.

Why all of the Kavanaugh deflections?

"Is that your actual problem, not with the procedure, but with the result?"

My problem is with any other allegation like this, at a minimum, the named witness should be interrogated under oath. You know, the same standard you'd insist on if the nominee had a different letter after his name.

My other problem is the "investigation" was a sham. It's like they were looking for snow on Waikiki Beach, and stunningly, they found none. You know...the Devin Nunes model.

Post #3 brought up allegations against Justice Kavanaugh. I was looking to dispatch that deflection.

#13 Because #3 is nothing but a pile of #2 who is unable to follow through with her proclamations of plonking me. She trolls me from thread to thread and is not capable of discussing the topic at hand. It's all she has. I pity her.

Why all of the Kavanaugh deflections?

Posted by JeffJ at 2018-11-27 11:49 AM | Reply

She posts an article condemning sexual misconduct of Democrats yet gave Kavanaugh a pass on his sexual misconduct. Much in the same vein that you did. You demanded Al Franken resign yet gave Kavanaugh a pass and worse yet accused Dr Ford of lying. Same garbage just different person.

You demanded Al Franken resign

Another case of Jefflexia.

I never called for his resignation. As a matter of fact, I said he should NOT resign.

#15 doesn't change the fact that it's a deflection.

My other problem is the "investigation" was a sham

It lasted longer than the Anita Hill investigation.

"It lasted longer than the Anita Hill investigation."

Oh, so a weekend?

"It lasted longer than the Anita Hill investigation."

Length wasn't the issue. Quality was.

Pretend the perp was Hillary. If a Dem-led "investigation" purposely found no problems, anywhere, and didn't even question the main witness, your head would've exploded, and rightly so.

This is bit ridiculous to have Gracie, a big supporter of sexual assault, posting this.
