Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, November 17, 2018

In an interview scheduled for broadcast on Fox News Sunday, Trump said he was surprised to see images of firefighters removing dried brush near a fire, adding, "This should have been all raked out." Asked if he thought climate change contributed to the fires, he said: "Maybe it contributes a little bit. The big problem we have is management."

Looks like we're gonna need all those illegal immigrants and more after all. To start raking all the forests.

Then they'll have to mulch it all and reintroduce the mulch back to those forest seeing how that how nature replenishes itself.

He sure is something like a genius.

#2 | Posted by memyselfini at 2018-11-17 02:47 PM | Reply

We need to build walls to stop the winds that make the fires grow. Fires are more dangerous than illegal immigrants so that is where the focus of wall building ought to be.

It's blue CA, so it's bad management.... except that much of it is national forest, so bad Trump management, were he correct to begin with.

Of course, we know he's not:

The guy who oversaw the bankruptcy of multiple CASINOS doesn't have room to critique other people's management abilities.

Blaming the fires in California on forest management completely ignores the fact that the biggest fire isn't a forest fire at all. You could have managed the forests perfectly and it wouldn't have affected the grass fire that burned down so many homes and killed so many people at all. Conservatives like Trump love to deny global climate change so they find other reasons to blame for the drought that climate change has brought to California.

Trump wasn't smooth in handling it, but he is 100% correct. The state has made it very difficult for landowners to comply with regulations involved in cleaning up their own land.

What a tool.

everyone North of Sacramento knows you can't rake leaves or pine needles that are still in trees.

Trump was smart to leave California when he did.

Trump said we need to rake the forest more.

Have you ever tried to rake a forest?

Who was responsible for federal forests for 8 of the last 10 years? Or did the problem magically start on Jan. 20th of last year?

First, I'm glad you admit it's the Fed's responsibility, especially since they own over 20x what the state owns.

Second, we didn't have a record-breaking death toll from fire during the Obama years; Trump's fire is the deadliest ever, and the prior record was in 1933.

Third, who recently cut federal funds to fight fires, Obama or Trump?

If Trump was smart (and he's not), he'd propose the thousands of immigrants from the caravan be granted immediate citizenship so long as they agreed to relocate to California and rake the leaves ... FEMA would be in charge of making it happen.

Trump's Boilerplate: Raking For Freedom

Desperate immigrants seeking a better life in America can immediately earn their new citizenship by heading straight to the disaster area to help rebuild fire ravaged California ... and the border situation is then diffused.

Do I have to think of everything?

Let's be fair now. From more tha one source, Trump didn't just recommend "raking." He said that to keep California from future fires, we should follow Finland's lead by "raking and cleaning and doing things." Not just "raking," but also "cleaning" and "doing things." "Doing things" is very important, too.

Silly, but I can't help wondering if, before he went to California, Trump knew Gavin Newsom was so much taller than he. Trump looks like a little fat guy next to Newsom. Would Trump's malignantly narcissistic ego have let him make the trip, had he known? Will someone's head roll for not informing him?

(1) The most recent fires were originated in brush, not forest.

(2) Part of Finland is within the Arctic circle.

(3) Rainfall since May at Jarbo Gap in Butte County, near where the Camp fire started, was at 0.7 inches. The May-November rainfall in Rovaniemi, Lapland's capital: 15.76 inches.

(4) President Sauli Niinistö of Finland told Ilta-Sanomat, the country's second-largest newspaper, on Sunday that he never discussed raking with Trump during their brief meeting in Paris.

Trump voters being "working Americans" is a myth.

They neither work or are American. They are traitors to their former country.

They grift off the government and their relatives.

They'd rather bow to traitor flags (stars and bars, and yellow snake flag) than have allegence to the American flag.

They are parasites!

Does anyone have a working knowledge of controlled burns?

The military uses (or used) them all the time.

I don't know if it's a coincidence, but everywhere I've ever been that has done controlled burns has a ton of ticks and a ton of crappy pine trees.
I've read that pines regenerate quickly in the burn areas, but hardwoods I'd assume are more valuable to nature.
