"At first there were eye rolls, but once they realized it was a serious request, the career guys were furious," said a senior U.S. official involved in the process.

To ease Turkish Pressure on Saudis over Killing, White House Weighs Expelling Erdogan Foe

WTF! Is there no limit to the amount of Saudi ass kissing that the Trump admin will not do?

Erdogan is no friend to us. He is a tyrant and an Islamist poising as Mahdi,(the Muslim Messiah). They also unfortunately have the largest army in NATO. If we do expel this individual to appease him, there are plenty of other countries that would take him. I don't like this, but playing nice with tyrants is nothing new for us. As I remember we gave Stalin over 100,000 Russian POWs to be killed by that regime and we knew it.

Michael Flynn got in a heap of trouble, in part, for plotting to have Gulen kidnapped from the US and sent to Turkey (where he might have gotten the 'Khashoggi treatment'). Gulen is a legal, permanent resident of the US. He is a political foe of Erdogan, who would describe him as a Nazi baby-killing left-handed golfer if that would help Erdogan's cause. Revoking Gulen's residency in the US would be about two steps from placing EVERY US resident--citizen or not--at risk of deportation. Trump giving into Turkey on this matter would have extremely dangerous repercussions for all Americans. Think I'm wrong? Imagine President Elizabeth Warren deporting Orrin Hatch, Brett Kavanaugh or Ted Nugent...

Deporting Gulen to Saudi Arabia would be tantamount to being an accomplice to murder. Gulen should immediately move to Canada, I am pretty sure they would assure his safety. America is now apparently willing to be complicity in crimes against humanity cuz the Saudis by lots of weapons. I am ashamed of America with Trump in charge.

" Imagine President Elizabeth Warren deporting Orrin Hatch, Brett Kavanaugh or Ted Nugent..."

I am trying but I can't think of any nation that would want them.

"He .. an Islamist poising as Mahdi"

?? eh? The Mahdi is translates to the Messiah.
In Sunni Islam, Hanafi school of thought, for which Erdogan subscribes to, the Mahdi is Jesus resurrected. They believe Jesus never died on the cross, that God replaced the body with a fake and raised Jesus to Heaven, to return at a later date to Sheppard in the End days.

Erdogan is scum and a tyrant for sure, but if he claimed himself Jesus, he'd be labeled and apostate and people would be out for his head.
