Catholic Church leaders in Los Angeles for years shuffled predator priests into non-English-speaking immigrant communities. That pattern was revealed in personnel documents released in a decades-old legal settlement between victims of child sex abuse by Catholic priests and the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

On top of that, silence is concent.

good article but it doesn't suggest the Catholic Church solved it's pedo problem.

Because it hasn't... ... ..not even close.

I had that conversation with some family that are catholic. They want heads to roll for the cover ups from top to bottom.
They don't donate in the collection basket for that reason.
They donate to the parish because as they say, ya got to keep the lights on...
Apparently you can send a check with the stipulation it goes to the electric bill, the gas bill, etc and it can't be used for anything else. I don't know if that's the case, but...

And it's not going to be as long as there is an sjw Pope who spends more time blubbering about global warming and mass migration than cleaning his own house.

When you restrict leadership of an organization to only men who don't want to have a normal relationship with women you probably should expect to get some people with "unusual" sexual tastes. The question I have is how did these people get in that position of power in the first place?

#5 | Posted by SomebodyElse at 2018-11-10 10:36 AM | Reply

Good. It's a conversation I had to have with my parents. It wasn't pleasant but we were close enough that they did hear me out.

When mom and dad passed away, they had nothing to do with the church anymore and hadn't for years.

I don't know either but it doesn't really matter since donations for a specific purpose free up funds to be used in other areas.

Sure it has.

They moved pedos into places where they can victimize people who are afraid to tell on them.

Just like the baby Jesus would.

I don't buy that. Having sexual relations with a child is a sickness. No normal person would do that no matter how long they abstained from having sex.

Yeah I disagree too.

The Catholic Church doesn't do itself any favors by pretending gay men aren't gay if they become celibate priests, but the issue of predators seeking access to children is not a gay thing or a straight thing.

It's a pedophilia thing.

The Catholic Church is doing a valuable service for our country. Immigrants won't come here once they know their kids will be raped by priests.
They are like the black watch, keeping the brown walkers on the other side of the wall.

True, but having no interest in women is sometimes a symptom of that sickness.

got 'em all on their knees for 'ol St. Peter, founder of the catholic church. pray..pay..let the priests play..diddle little boys..that's the catholic way. then go to "confession". down on your knees again. as long as religion keeps peoples heads bowed down, they'll never be able to see

It's a real shame god can't handle money.

The catholic church has paid out 4 billion since 1980. That's for only 8,000+ cases across the globe. 100,000+ cases to go.
How did it get this bad?

Imagine you run a world-wide criminal syndicate with thousands employed and millions playing the numbers and paying for protection. How long would you last if you start handing over middle management to the cops? --Not very long.
So you send them back to the home store where you can keep an eye on them. This goes on for years, decades, m i l l e n n i a. Next thing you know you need bunk beds in Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and the entire shop is full of animals that dont possess a conscience.

Catholic here. What the church is done is disgusting; so is the abuse; so is the cover-up. But I still believe in one Holy Universal and Apostolic Church. Rotten people might be, the church has produced more Saints and mighty examples of charity.

But even if every priest was a pedophile and the pope himself was raping kids, the church would still be holy, because it isn't holy because of the Good Deeds of any or all of it's earthy members individual but of the Good Deeds of Christ Alone testified by the Saints in heaven.

If you don't want to believe the propaganda then don't. But for any Catholics who want to hold on to your faith remember the church (via Christ) calls everyone to holiness and that's what makes her holy (via the merits of Christ).

Isn't that like saying the Army has produced more generals than the Navy?

My point is that people can do good and the church can help them do good.. because we believe the source of all goodness is Christ and that he gives grace through his church. But some priests in the name of the church align themselves with Satan instead, they give into to greed or power or lust.. my point isn't to defend the church's actions made by those in league with Satan but to encourage people who still believe in the Church.. to live out your vocation holiness.

people can do good and the church can help them do good..(bla bla bla some white noise bla bla)

"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."

No individual needs to believe in
the Church to do what is right. In fact, there are a great number of atheist who are far more holy than a great number of Catholics.

But morality wants to change like everything else.. and it's not always for the better.

So it's not just white noise. Without the church good and evil are relative; distasteful to us but not objectively awful and subject to corruption and drift. Human beings are capable of all sorts of morality (slavery, rape of women, children ). Is it not the church that says the dignity of every human being is worth something? Isn't this why the crimes She's accused of her so awful and hypocritical ?

But if we burn her down completely, why should we keep her morality? Why shouldn't we revert back to a more sensible rule of morality we're human beings are property of the powerful? Why should the Christian morality we largely have adopted be the one we keep?

You are correct when you say you need religion to make good people do evil.. but when you burn it all down, good and evil are just social constructs without any sort of anchor; they are simply meaningless statements to evolve with our cultures.
The answer must be to purge the church and not its morality.
