Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, November 08, 2018

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is being considered to replace Jeff Sessions as attorney general, two sources familiar with the matter tell CBS News. President Trump forced Sessions out as the nation's chief law enforcement officer on Wednesday, one day after Democrats captured the House in the midterm elections.

Christie wouldn't walk into this situation. It's going to be life-destroying for whomever.

28 CFR § 45.2 - Disqualification arising from personal or political relationship.

(a) Unless authorized under paragraph (b) of this section, no employee shall participate in a criminal investigation or prosecution if he has a personal or political relationship with:
(1) Any person or organization substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution; or
(2) Any person or organization which he knows has a specific and substantial interest that would be directly affected by the outcome of the investigation or prosecution.

Christie would have the same recusal issues as Sessions. Unless the plan is for the Mueller investigation to be over before Christie gets there.

Isn't that the point of the Trump administration? To give these lifelong politicians the ability to shuffle into private sector?

Why hasn't Trump sued Sessions for his recusal?

Imo, Christie is a political whore no different from Cruz in that he's been publicly humiliated by Trump and will still grovel for more of his gruel.

- Floated is a word Corky. Well done!

I can't take credit for that... my original headline was:

Crisco Christie Bloated, er, Floated as New AG

plus this video:

www.youtube.com

Some mysterious white-headed power must have changed it.

I know it's a typo. So I'm not trying to be a ---.

But this gave me a good chuckle.

I thank you. :)

Perhaps he just has a wicked sense of humor.

Or, perhaps it is reality based on Twilight Zone's The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street:

"Maple Street, U.S.A., late summer. A tree-lined little world of front porch gliders, barbecues, the laughter of children, and the bell of an ice cream vendor. At the sound of the roar and the flash of light, it will be precisely 6:43 P.M. on Maple Street...This is Maple Street on a late Saturday afternoon. Maple Street in the last calm and reflective moment - before the monsters came. ..."
"The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices – to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill – and suspicion can destroy – and a thoughtless frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own – for the children – and the children yet unborn. And the pity of it is – that these things cannot be confined – to the Twilight Zone."

They all float down there you know. He'll float, too!

You won't believe how well they float down there.

People tell me all the time how much we all float down there.

He will float so much he will be tired of floating down there!

Welcome to New Jersey where Bob Menendez defeated Bob Hugin, both free range criminals. Another crook from New Jersey is in consideration for Attorney General of the United States. Nothing to see here.

Float? ~ LOL (very clever, Rcade)

If Trump and Christie show up together, I'm going to need a wider TV.

Funny with Danforth saying today that we can't redefine words just because we want to (sorry again to Larry/Laura) and now with the Libs going out of their way to fat shame someone. I guess we are starting to see their true colors - evil, frightened little children playing 'tough guy' n the internet.

MOVEON

Christie deserves to be shamed. If he gets appointed AG it's us taxpayers will have to pay to widen all the doors and hallways at the DOJ. And also reinforce the elevators ~ not to mention a bigger security detail to surround that heap of blubber.

No, you ------- idiot.

I said the words you were using already had a LEGAL definition. You're beyond stupid, and a world-class coward. Clearly I've embarrassed you mercilessly in the past, and for that...

...I laugh in your face.

You just joined the Retort yesterday.

Laura hasn't been Larry for several years now.

So how do you know Laura used to be Larry?

Whose sock-puppet are you?

Are you someone currently in exile attempting to getting around it by creating a new account?

Funny how Trump supporters love his insults and name-calling but suddenly get all politically correct when someone else does the same.

Don't you want everybody to be more like Trump, loser?
