SCOTUS press release: Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg fell in her office at the Court last evening. She went home, but after experiencing discomfort overnight, went to George Washington University Hospital early this morning. Tests showed that she fractured three ribs on her left side and she was admitted for observation and treatment. Updates will be provided as they become available.

This has happened to her before and it seems like she bounced back pretty good. I wish her luck.

Might be time for her to retire though.

Older people breaking bones in falls is very scary.

Older people breaking bones in falls is very scary.

Indeed. My 94 year old father fell last year, broke his hip in 3 places, and died 3 days later.

She's a tough woman. I expect her to fully recover.

The hip fracture from the fall is always the beginning of the end.

My friend's 100 year old mother fell in June and broke 3 ribs. Very painful, especially for the first few days. After a month she returned to her assisted living residence, and now uses a walker instead of a cane. Her doctor told her a few years back that if she fell land broke her hip it would kill her. Not that she can remember that. How well/fast RBG recovers depends on what caused the fall. Is there a serious underlying medical condition behind it?

Whaaaa? Trump might get a third SCOTUS pick?!

I hope she recovers, as Jeff notes, RBG is a "tough broad" (her words, not mine) and a couple of broken ribs hopefully won't slow her down.

What a snowflake. 3 broken ribs is nothing compared to bone spurs.

We're clearly too close to the 2020 election for the Senate to approve a new justice. We need to wait for the will of the people to be heard.

Ginsberg is a critical voice of reason in a dangerous world of lies. But none of us live forever. If we did there would be no change, no evolution.

Yes I am sending prayers for a speedy recovery. She is tough as nails (in a good way). Eat a Snickers and bounce back Justice Ginsburg!

I hope Trump nominates Bill Clinton.

Clinton isn't ----- enough for trump to appoint.

Let's say the truth, an 88 year old woman even with excellent medical care has about 50% of a chance to live two more years. Looks like Trump is going to ge able to make the Supreme Court conservative for the next 20 years. 5 top 4 now, and 6 to 3 before the next election.

Humpy likes his Supreme Court Justices so blind drunk that when they fall down they bounce like rubber.

#15 I hate to rain on your parade, but an 88 year old woman has an average life expectancy of another 5 years.

Check the insurance actuaries. They are more accurate.

I hear Trump's next Supreme Court nominee is some old white guy named Rove. Top of the line guy, gets along with everybody.

Show her how to do it Puke_Gently.

Don't want her to mess it up.

Need to wrap her in bubble wrap for 2 years.

If she wanted to insure a progressive would be appointed she should have resigned during Obama's tenure. As it is, we have a justice with obvious signs of diminished capacity and ill health.

She should have been impeached and stuck in a nursing home the day she admitted that she was using foreign law over US law and the U.S. Constitution to make her decisions.

In all fairness she probably doesn't remember saying that or even what year it is now.

The Notorious RBG never said any such thing.
