China Telecom, the large international communications carrier with close ties to the Chinese government, misdirected big chunks of Internet traffic through a roundabout path that threatened the security and integrity of data passing between various providers' backbones for two and a half years, a security expert said Monday.

That's a seriously huge eff up. Frankly, I don't know how it went uncaught.

"Domestic US Internet Traffic Routed Through China Telecom"

Thanks, Capitalism!

Snoofy,

That joke was clever the first 189 times you used it.

But now, it's gotten stale.

What makes you think I'm joking?

Whether you are joking or not, that meme has gotten old.

So has Capitalism.
Your point?

Capitalism may be old but it has created more prosperity across the board than any other economic system that has been tried.

You can't have capitalism without socialism. Theirs is a symbiotic relationship.

Laura,

Government isn't socialism.

A welfare state isn't socialism.

Socialism is when the state controls the means of production. It always fails. Always. And it's been tried on numerous occasions over the past century.

Falling oil prices and economic war with the US
Are more to blame. But thanks for confirming your bumper sticker approach to politics.

Define capitalism Jeff, it isn't what you think it is.

Today's capitalists insist on owning the media, buying politicians, lobbyists, unnecessary wars, trillion dollar tax cuts for themselves while millions go without healthcare in the U.S. Don't preach to me ever about how wonderful capitalism is. In truth REGULATED CAPITALISM is what built our middle class and is what has built even better societies in other nations, unbridled capitalism is a road to misery for the masses.

Has it not also created more misery?

What was the global population before calitalism, and what is it today? Capitalism has given us billions of peoole living on next to nothing.

I can't believe there are morons here defending this abuse?! In the name of "capitalism" lots of misery befalls the majority. Gotta stop those elders from getting cheaper medications! Gotta infiltrate every competitor to create a better means of controlling them. Ni hao Zuckerberg!

Perhaps you should tell that to the ignorant sniveling mobs that fill Humpy stadiums.

We will never be the socialist state that nuts like bozo constantly fret over.

Gazprom failed?

"Socialism is when the state controls the means of production."

If that's your only definition, single-payer isn't socialism. With SP, capitalistic companies will still profit via their means of production, and will compete in an open market for governmental business (just like today). The middlemen of insurance peddlers will simply be taken out of the equation, since the government's actuarial pool is so enormous it creates its own equilibrium.

Even more than that: Insurance companies don't produce anything!

They are a means of payment, not a means of production.

JeffJ rattles off his corporatist propaganda but can't tell the difference between a dollar bill and the product it buys.
