Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The four Democratic senators facing competitive races who voted against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh lost their seats in Tuesday's midterm elections, while the sole Democratic senator who supported the judge -- West Virginia's Joe Manchin -- claimed victory. Indiana's Joe Donnelly, Missouri's Claire McCaskill, North Dakota's Heidi Heitkamp, and Florida's Bill Nelson all lost their re-election bids.

In North Dakota, voters who were especially concerned about the Kavanaugh proceedings -- which featured a dramatic series of late-breaking sexual assault allegations, at least two of which now seem highly questionable -- voted GOP by a two-to-one margin, according to the Associated Press.

Confirmation was not exoneration.

"They got what they deserved. Good."

They didn't even get to review documents that he authored while serving in the Bush administration. Sort of like electing a President without being able to view his tax returns. They did the right thing, you should not approve of a SC Justice without the ability to review all of his past history. It's ridiculous to argue otherwise.

Bill Nelson's race is going for recount because it was so close.

They got what they deserved. Good.

They stood up for an alleged rape victim and voted against someone whose temperament and history of lying under oath made him unworthy of the Supreme Court.

If doing that is now bad to Republicans, your party has become as repulsive as its Clown King.

Four Democratic senators in ruby-red states carried by Trump in 2016 lost their reelection.

You sound like the Alabama Crimson Tide football team giving each other a high-five over beating the Eastern Michigan Eagles.

This isn't a football game, HANS. Unless the coach of your team is also going to be hit with subpoenas, investigations, and likely criminal charges.

Correct.

Which is why I was comparing the absurd celebration of four Democratic senators in ruby-red states carried by Trump in 2016 losing their reelection to a football team.

Hans makes a good point in #7. They were in red states. They had a tough road regardless of Kavanaugh.

#3 LOL they vote against their own interests constantly because they can be reliably distracted by a shiny object thrown a different direction.

You could remake every season of The Walking Dead with the zombies replaced by live people wearing MAGA hats and it would be just as believable.

This is not a regular job interview and you know it (or should).

Apparently, when you are accused of assault and you are applying for Supreme Court Justice you DO get asked about it and most candidates have a very good answer, too.

They don't usually respond back, "Haven't YOU ever been blind drunk?" or "do you like beer"?

Maybe when applying for a beer delivery company that would be an appropriate response. Not a Lifetime Appt to Supreme Court Justice.

I know you have been told many times, it is oblivious there is no cure for your political distemper.

Most of us also aren't accused of serial rape and most of us don't have a history of perjuring ourselves. If both of those are a feature of your life, Boaz, I wouldn't be surprised.
