Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, November 06, 2018

Scientists have been puzzling over Oumuamua ever since the mysterious space object was observed tumbling past the sun in late 2017. Given its high speed and its unusual trajectory, the reddish, stadium-sized whatever-it-is had clearly come from outside our solar system. But its flattened, elongated shape and the way it accelerated on its way through the solar system set it apart from conventional asteroids and comets.

Those poor aliens! Their ship is tumbling out of control! We must save them!

Oh never mind. We have our own National EMERGY right here at home. The CARAVAN is coming! It's almost here! Get away from the windows!

This is a job for the Bundy Gang!

The kind of story that brought me to the DR all those years ago. Refreshing.

Best case scenario:

It is an alien craft.

It's imminent arrival forces humanity to clean up it's act ASAP.

When it arrives we find it's a ghost ship that contains no harmful biological contaminants and a vast wealth of tech and knowledge that will allow us colonize our solar system and prepare to meet our neighbors.

#3 Yeah, now it's all "NAZI!" "COMMIE!" "BABY-KILLER!" stuff. I ought not throw stones, as I get dirty here, too. I'm not proud of it. I am making a vow to post one groovy paranormal story a week from now on. Of course, the comments section will likely devolve into "NAZI!" "COMMIE!" "BABY-KILLER!" pretty quickly, as they often do, but it's worth a try.

That thing looks like a rock I'd skip across a lake.

"When it arrives we find it's a ghost ship..."

It's already gone. It has already left the solar system. We missed our chance.

Astronomers estimate that several interstellar objects similar to ʻOumuamua pass inside the orbit of Earth each year.

I read an article about this. Basically, if it was an alien technology, it long since has stopped functioning and is merely continuing it's journey through space.

After recent events, the occupants felt they must break the prime directive and save us from ourselves.

No one is coming to save us from ourselves.

It's taken over 40 years to admit there is ice on the moon and Mars. SETI opinions are more useless excretions on a topic they have ZERO knowledge of.

But seriously, since it has an incredibly distinguishing shape means we see a hurtling unlike any other.

If it is an alien ship, why wouldn't we close in and attempt contact? Such a strange, lazy orbit may indicate it does not possess control. Would this require another ship to stabilize? This gets into AI territory.

If it is an alien projectile, a probe - would we suffer for interference or promote an invasion? This has serious implications - the search for sub-light travel civilizations to readily conquer. Again, an AI could help determine those risks.

Several people believe these are "telepathic" control only - this might indicate the crew isn't presently aware. We could unveil a Khan..

"Several people believe these are "telepathic" control only..."

Ancient Astronaut theorists may believe this...

But, most people believe it is just a big rock tumbling thru space.

No offense, I don't follow the ancient astronaut stuff whatsoever. I don't watch television shows. I also don't really care that much about UFO sightings. I'm resigned to the fact that we're observing experimental craft and possible experimental interactions.

Specific people do have interesting theory when placed together. They claim telepathic communication exclusively. Such as fear, paralysis, hallucination and "language" or commands.

What I do understand is that telepathy would not only prohibit use by aliens but prevent contamination.

I will ask what you think of Jim Sparks. The entire thing. He seems to get carrot after carrot, those alleged technologies really seem to have found a spokesperson of sorts.

He is one of several with the precise same experience for the most part. Correlating with Dr. Greer and we see a war of technological sorts.
