"Saturday Night Live" comedian Pete Davidson mocked the appearance of a congressional candidate whose eye was destroyed while he served in Afghanistan. "This guy is kinda cool, Dan Crenshaw," Davidson said on this weekend's show, next to a photo of Crenshaw, a Republican. "You may be surprised to hear he's a congressional candidate from Texas, and not a hit man in a porno movie. "I'm sorry, I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever," he added. "Whatever."

The important thing is a lot of libs got a good laugh at that honorable man's expense, and we all that know anyone who fought in a war is or was evil, so who cares? Righties don't have feelings. Just ask that Kavanaugh guy.

I wonder if he lost his dominant eye, and had to learn and qualify sharpshooting with the other, or whether he was "lucky" enough to lose the non-dominant one. Didn't know about this candidate before the skit, but wow, that's badass to remain on the job and coming back from injury.

I prefer vets that don't get injured.

Ah, considering his time in service and that stage of his career in ‘12-‘16, he wouldn't have been out with the guys doing direct action.

Redeployed with one eye??? That is crazy.

It shows the desperation of the American side as it loses in Afghanistan.

who lost his eye serving our country

Who lost his eye while trying to kill a few more Muslim women and kids. He wasn't there to defend America. America isn't under attack.

If we were serious about defending America, we would have done something about Saudi Arabia (9-11).

I don't give a frak about Afghans... I am just saying this guy and guys like him have ugly intentions. So they lose a body part and we are supposed to give them "respect"?

Pete Davidson is clearly positioning himself to run for Congress as a member of the GOP because their voters love candidates that mock and attack inured/killed war vets and their families.

We are not doing well.

Only righty tighties and idiots expect SNL to be politically correct.

My wife had DVR'd SNL and had it on while she was doing laundry and I was doing some housekeeping.

Man, their ---- is seriously unfunny, their political stuff especially - it's all just left-wing politics and mean-spirited, lowest hanging fruit, petty insults. Pretty much insufferable.

My youngest loves chess, so I went online and found a SNL skit where Jim Belushi played the role of a High School chess coach. That skit was hilarious and it brought me back to far better days at SNL.

"their ---- is seriously unfunny,"

Agreed.

And when the first skit after the cold opening---the one they're proudest of---sucks, the whole show will. Even Weekend Update is a shell of what it used to be.

Many right here who are republicans fail to remember what GW and the Donald said about the war hero John McCain.

It doesn't make SNL right on this, but it does show the glossing over the parties do to protect their own.

The SNL guy's joke wasn't cruel. It was a PG rated roast. I'm sure the SEAL will use it to his advantage because politics, but there's no way his friends aren't bagging on him about it.

It reminds me of the "vicious" roundhouse kicking hair dresser from Toronto.

I actually liked the Trump comments about McCain.
I don't agree with his characterization, but I found it hilariously uncouth. Worse has been said to/about McCain and his service, and I think such a petty dig probably really bothered him. So even better.

If it's funnier than it is cruel, then who cares...

The "joke" was wrong. Totally in poor taste to say the least. No excuse but many of his jokes are tactless. Then again as a joke about his appearance it was spot on when judging his appearance...

I am just going to make an in general observation about this election cycle. I have had to endure many ads here in Michigan and I have to say that here the Democrats have taken the high road on virtually everything I have watched or read. The GOP on the other hand has been baselessly fear mongering. GOP Senate candidate John James started out with a couple "good" ads but went totally negative. The rest? Negative with vague accusations meant for the base.

The latest GOPer trick? Phrase the wording so they sound like the incumbent. Anyone else notice this?

I've seen Pete Davidson on those Comedy Central roasts. He's pretty cutthroat. He lost his dad on 9/11 and still makes jokes about it.
I find his roasting ability to be pretty funny. I don't know about SNL. Haven't watched in years. Will Ferrel era, and it was few and far between then.

He's at least self aware enough to know he's not very good looking.
