Nulli - it wasn't the mainstream that started blaming one side or the other it was Faux News and the Defenders of the Right that started ranting about how it was a false flag thing. Don't get me wrong I am SURE you can find left wingers blaming right wingers in the media before they caught the nut job BUT the mainstream wasn't portraying it that way in general and all the right's talking heads were.
You have witnessed the partial list posted here multiple times:
Mike Flynn Jr.
This whole false flag thing is the default right battle cry now when something happens that is most likely a right winger. Even here... It feels like KoolAid drinking on the right is all there is at times. Personally - I try very hard to not rush to judgement but you couldn't have asked for a better example of what people on the left see your typical Trump supporter as - Cesar Sayoc. I mean draw a caricature, give him scabby knuckles and voila! The poster child right wing stereotype. He even looks a little like Trump Jr. When a false flag happens it is the HUGE exception to the rule and all we seem to hear from the right anymore when one of their radicalized militants strikes out.
I believe the dangerous kind of talk promoted on the right especially mixed with falsehoods and outright lies spread as fact by people who should know better is the biggest issue facing this country today. It is creating deep divisions that are going to have ongoing repercussions for generations. You can't demonize the left and not expect push back. The right has been strategically been doing just that for 40 years and it has become worse and more aggressive each passing year. Both extremes are cancerous and result in nothing good. The constant demonization is the right though and when I look back at history it is virtually always the right. Certainly the right has been pushed by progress - it always has but small mindedness has a way of losing out over time.
Truth be told, the right has nothing to do with conservatism today except under the premise of false religious constructs. Spending? Hah. How about we cut Social Security and Medicare? Can't cut Military... Well there goes 2/3rds of the budget. Guess what? Those cuts are INEVITABLE. How about we cut Infrastructure and Education instead? How about we cut taxes and make the problem worse? How about we create regressive and biased taxes to pay for things? Ignorance of the right is the power of the people like Trump leading the sheeple around.
Frankly I am just tired of stupid willfully ignorant people. I will listen to anyone until they start spouting falsehoods and making baseless accusations. I then correct them now. I used to listen and try and have a conversation but it is so bad that actual facts no longer matter so whats the point in being polite? That's what people on the right don't understand - willful ignorance mixed with downright stupid is just so damned tiring.
Don't like being called or insinuated as being stupid or ignorant? Quit being afraid of being wrong, quit drinking the KoolAid and spouting talking points you haven't researched, do the research, get to know people you are not comfortable around and have an open ongoing dialog. Very bluntly, I did that 30+ years ago and it changed my perspective. I get the fear of conservatives but having an open mind is freeing.
