Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

On Monday night in Houston, Donald Trump will dunk on Ted Cruz one last time. Trump will travel to Texas to hold a massive get-out-the-vote rally for Cruz in the final days of a closer-than-expected race against Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D).

This is TRUMP'S party now. They either need to recognize it and kiss the ring or run the risk of not having a job. And so, because they are politicians, they kiss the ring. (Or at least most of them do.)

Cruz has a lieing lazy eye and has he ever shown his real birth certificate?

OK, Cruz isn't very likeable. He looks and behaves a lot like McCarthy and is as appealing as a lye bath. But he is a rock hard conservative. Beto is a Hollywood liberal financed by out of state money. But he is prettier than Cruz. Lest you forget, Texas is conservative. God, guts and guns built the state and we haven't changed. Got back from California last night, landed at Love field. On the way out I saw the statue of the Ranger, (One riot, one Ranger). There is a reason California is the place of dreams and Texas is the land of reality. Dream money doesn't pay the bills.

Sporky the moment the election is over win or lose Cruz will go back to being the guy Trump says has an ugly wife and a dad who helped kill Kennedy.

docnjo never knows what it's talking about. A "Hollywood Liberal" is just another Joseph Goebbels propaganda campaign designed to denigrate good ideas. Republicans are disciplined propagandists that use Frank Luntz study groups to sway public opinion with words like "death tax", "right to work", and have spent a fortune turning "socialism" into a bad word, even though socialism is integral to our military, superhighway system and post office to name just a few examples of socialism...

2015 Texas GDP 1.639 trillion USD
2015 California GDP 2.448 trillion USD

Republican politicians are like broncos. Once you bust them they become obedient and docile. Ted is that now, Trump has him eating out of his hand as he has all the Republicans doing. I always knew their bluster was an act.

#11 | Posted by bayviking What you overlooked was that California has a third of welfare roles in the country. My daughter and son in law live in silicon valley. The rent on a 800 square foot apartment is 2700 bucks a month. Gas is 4.88 a gallon and taxes take 20% of their take home pay before federal taxes. They are now looking to move back to Texas, their math says that they could live better on 60K in Texas than 100K in California.

"The rent on a 800 square foot apartment is 2700 bucks a month."

Isn't the usual Republican response at this point a recommendation to buy rental property in silicon valley?

Cruz isn't likeable or appealing? You forgot downright slimy - shake that hand and that slime won't come off for a month. Beto and Cruz both have their share of "out of state money". Difference is Beto has a ton of small in state donations compared to Cruz.

I will agree with Guts and Guns built Texas. Everyone remembers the Alamo. Those were some pretty liberal hombre's for the time though.

Your observations on Texas vs Cali are funny since so many Californians have been moving to Texas in the past couple decades. Texas is more pink than red these days - it's just the gerrymandering leaving you delusional to how "conservative" the state is. Your population centers are Blue as they come. Houston, Austin, Dallas/Ft Worth, even San Antonio is sliding Blue.

#16 | Posted by GalaxiePete Why would anyone who is trying to escape the heavy handed government in California want to make Texas like the place they left? Austin and Dallas are pretty liberal, but Harris county (Houston) is very red, Dallas is an island of Democrats surrounded by Republican suburbs. Austin is just our human zoo, it's where we keep our old hippies, freaks and people who can't figure which toilet to use.

Ah, now that's the Texas ----------- I've come to expect.

BTW, Clinton carried Harris County by more than 12 percent. You know, in political terms, a landslide.

#12 | Posted by danni You forget that Cruz has been a well spoken and popular pol in Texas, his run in the primary was not his best decision. He is very good at getting out his voters. Beto doesn't have much of a chance. He is not much of a Texan. He supports gun confiscation (one of the few that got an "F" from the NRA), abortion (abortion on demand at any time) and gay privilege (special protections for those in that lifestyle). We have plenty outside the urban areas that will not vote for any leftist for any reason.

#23 | Posted by Danforth Any violent crime against a homosexual automatically being deemed a hate crime. Yet the inverse is not? In Jasper we put two ABs to death for their assault on a black man who was drug behind a pickup. A year later a white man suffered the same fate by black men after being run over and getting hung up under their car, also in Jasper. They didn't get the death penalty. I guess that some lives are more important than others.

Could you show me the claim for "Any"?

"A year later a white man suffered the same fate by black men after being run over and getting hung up under their car"

And you don't see a difference between getting hung up versus tied up and purposefully dragged behind?

Good God, man, are you serious?

That's weird, I wonder how the fire marshals didn't catch 100,000 people packing into a building with a capacity of 18,000.

I love how this rally is a microcosm of the GOP:

Trump savages a rival's spouse. Trump prevails. Vanquished rival supplicates and accepts Trumps 'help'.

No principle, no spine. How unseemly.
