Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, October 21, 2018

The Kansas Republican Party is the Sunflower State affiliate of the national Republican organization and their acolytes have recently taken that idiom's advice to heart by removing the only polling location from [Dodge City's] civic center and placing it well outside of town -- a mile away from the nearest bus stop. According to The Wichita Eagle, Dodge City is now at least 60 percent Hispanic -- and since Hispanic voters overwhelmingly choose Democrats over Republicans, the paper notes, the removal of the city's lone polling station "could be a factor in Kansas' tight governor's race featuring a champion of immigration restrictions, Republican [Secretary of State] Kris Kobach [and] Democratic state Senator Laura Kelly."

We've replaced Florida for the worst state in the Nation. You Floridans should be happy.

If any major publication picks this up I'll be amazed.

poor rural people may as well not exist far as most journalists are concerned.

This isn't that big of a deal.

The main polling place is under construction/renovation right now.

They city recently built a new event center just outside of town.

This isn't some conspiracy to suppress votes.

Which is why Dems don't want to enforce the border.

The people coming over the border aren't voting. They're not citizens. The undocumented are not going to risk deportation to vote. They try to stay under the radar.

They will be once the Dems have the political power to give them amnesty and a quick path to citizenship.

Just another thread where Nulli proves he's a racist.

You're right Nulli. Only white folks who promise to vote republican should be allowed citizenship and the right to vote.

Now. Move along.

And Wow, how bad can you liberals whine and lie about stuff like this:

Construction of an addition to the Civic Center was scheduled to start in October, and Cox said she needed a substitute voting site for this election that was both big enough and accessible. The Expo, about a mile south of the city, was chosen. Cox said a mailing was sent to voters and included an application to request for a mail ballot.

The Public Transportation buses will run regular routes on Election Day, but the system also will have bus service available for free rides to the Expo. People must call ahead - 620-371-3879 - and schedule a ride, a spokeswoman said. Rides will be available on a first-come/first-served basis.

So not only is bus transportation going to be provided it will be available for free.

I was answering your question:

So moving the polling station hurt them not so whats all the crying about?

Moving the station hurt the voters.

Moving the station will inconvenience voters. Even with all possible assistance provided. Unless they were to make voting day a national holiday. Then people can have time to go anywhere needed to vote and still make it to work.

Then people can have time to go anywhere needed to vote and not worry about making it to work.

You're not as bright as I thought you were. There's no "negation" there. If you don't think Dems see illegal immigrants as future democratic voters you are either naive or disingenuous.

Great timing, eh? How many white precincts are being "renovated" during the election?

#19 You're not as bright as I thought you were.

Thanks for thinking I was bright. As to whether that opinion remains or not, consider this:

From the article:
'According to The Wichita Eagle, Dodge City is now at least 60 percent Hispanic–and since Hispanic voters overwhelmingly choose Democrats over Republicans, the paper notes, the removal of the city's lone polling station "could be a factor in Kansas' tight governor's race featuring a champion of immigration restrictions, Republican [Secretary of State] Kris Kobach [and] Democratic state Senator Laura Kelly."'

You responded with:

Which is why Dems don't want to enforce the border.
#5

Which (present tense) has nothing to do with those in Dodge City affected by this polling station change of location. Whodaman pointed that obvious point out quite well.

Regarding those on the other side of the border, which you say the wall is needed to keep out, Whodaman also pointed out:

--They're not citizens

To which you replied:

They will be (future tense) once the Dems have the political power to give them amnesty and a quick path to citizenship.
#7

#7 future tense negates #5 past tense. You took your own argument down without Whodaman's help. Something that might happen in the future has no bearing on what is happening today wrt this matter.

Avigdore actually bothered to mark your post "Newsworthy" - ok... :)

#19 | POSTED BY NULLIFIDIAN

That's cute but you have to be an idiot to think Dems see them that way. Or that Dems want to give all illegal amnesty.

In addition, legal immigrants don't vote lock step Dem. They are actually fairly split and oppose amnesty, etc.

It is in every other State with a Republican Governor. Voter supression is the only policy Republicans have that is effective.

Well duh, Eberly.

Conspiracies they try to keep secret.

This isn't a conspiracy at all.

It's all happening overtly, with full GOP support of whatever schemes it takes to suppress likely Democrat votes.

It's what you're being told.

I can only tell you about this one because I know the area and used to live there

It's a wash with regard to convenience.

And it's not causing a huge ruckus there.

"It's a wash with regard to convenience."

You must have some awfully comfortable moccasins, since it's "a mile away from the nearest bus stop."

I won't judge you until you walk it, Eberly. ;)
