Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Ivanka Trump misrepresented the sales figures of various Trump-branded properties around the world on multiple occasions over the past decade, according to a lengthy exposé released late Wednesday by public interest news organization ProPublica in conjunction with Manhattan public radio station WNYC. Those real estate-related misrepresentations were almost certainly criminal according to legal experts surveyed by Law&Crime.

It's funny how you liberals are always going for the "home run" of getting someone thrown out of office by convicting them of a crime. You do know you cant go after every Republican like that, right? Because if this is the norm you want, you will get it.

You need to leave us republicans alone and let us govern the way the American people wanted us to.

Anybody with half a brain already knew the Trump family was unethical. Makes you wonder how many other wealthy individuals acquired their wealth through unethical/illegal means.

I'm convinced that crime is no less likely at the upper end of the socioeconomic ladder than at the lower end. It's just that educated, well connected folks don't use guns when they rob you. And they tend not to be as desperate.

It's easier to mask your crimes when you dress nice and drive a fancy car and live in a nice house with a well-manicured lawn. People assume you deserve it because, you know, you've worked hard.

I very strongly disagree with this. I'd prefer if people are rightfully accused, tried, and convicted. Someone's political leanings have no bearing on their criminality, and shouldn't be a defense against criminal behavior. It would actually be refreshing to see Ivanka face evidence, a jury of her peers, a judge...all of those things if a DA finds that her actions warrant it. It is much better for everyone to have a final guilty/not-guilty than what we ending up with attack by accusations.

We will stop throwing republicans out of office for committing crimes when republicans in office stop committing crimes. Elected officials should be held to a HIGHER standard than average Americans, not given multiple mulligans.

Need a lot more specifics to know if she committed fraud. Of course, people who are anti-President won't think first and actually ask questions. But saying ANYTHING is not fraud. It all comes down to the books. If the books are fraudulent, then this is a problem. If the whole premise of this article is just stating that Ivanka is on record as saying sales were at a certain point, that isn't illegal. In fact, that's the reason why car dealerships can say they are the #1 seller in the country or why TV shows can all say they are the #1 new show on television. Now, if they asked for funding then they have to get financial numbers on paper. You can't sue ABC because you thought you were watching the #1 new show and weren't because the ratings are documented and it is up to you to research.

So what should happen here is that if Ivanka put the books together and they were fraudulent, she should be punished. But if the books were correct, the author and the outlet should be punished for spreading more fake news. It's getting sickening how much hate the media spreads by stating things that aren't illegal but spinning it so that when people read it, they feel something bad happened and form a negative opinion of someone because of it.

Step 1: Read Headline
Step 2: Claim it's a liberal conspiracy theory and/or not enough facts to prove it
Step 3: Ignore actual article and copious details contained in full length story
Step 4: Open Beer and whine about Liberals
Step 5: Vote Trump

The article contains a link to a very long and detailed article providing all of the necessary details.

The most Patriotic thing you could do for your country is to never vote again.

Are you seriously that effing delusional?

- Republicl°wns* have gerrymandered more states to ensure their dominance than Democrats ever thought of doing. They used big data after the 2010 to do it.
- When you count total votes in the United States - Trump lost by a landslide. Why is that?
- When you look at voter restrictions, who they affect, who actually has been caught cheating, etc - it just one party...

So basically:
- Over 50% of the "American people" - several of whom post here - didn't and don't want Republicl°wns* in charge.
- The system has been manipulated to the point of absurdity.

That said how many years did Republicl°wns* hound both the clintons and come up with Squat when they were trying to "govern the way the American people wanted them to"? I remember Bill's Presidency - it was economic boom the second half. Budget surpluses and all. Then in walked shrub...

Speaking frankly - both sides need to and can do better but the clowns running the federal government (GOP) are out of control.

*RightisTrite - Thanks for the spelling.

FYI: Ivanka and Jared were Democrats at the time she may have committed the felony fraud, and the Manhattan DA at the time, Cyrus Vance Jr., who may have taken a bribe to look the other way, was also a Democrat.

I think you are not being taken seriously because it is obvious that what you are claiming is a problem... isn't. gerrymandering IS a problem. Gerrymandering is designed to not represent the majority of American votes. You know it and I know it.

Honestly I think it should be compulsory that everyone 18 and older vote in every major election, are subject to fines if they don't... as they do in many countries in the southern hemisphere... and that the country be run on the popular vote. As it stands now election advertising is all about convincing people to get off their asses and go out and vote, thus we are bombarded by ghost stories trying to scare people into voting because the civic duty part of it escapes them. A very popular ghost story is illegals are coming over in caravans and voting... the deplorable and gullible go for the okie doke.

"Honestly I think it should be compulsory that everyone 18 and older vote in every major election, are subject to fines if they don't..."

It should be like a "stupid tax". Like a tax for people too stupid to get health insurance. Or like buying lottery tickets. We could probably balance the budget just with a "stupid tax" in America.

We could call it the Trump Prevention Act.
