Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Minnesota Democrats are worried that allegations of domestic abuse made by a former girlfriend of Rep. Keith Ellison (D) could be a drag on his chances of winning the state's attorney general's office, a post Democrats have held for almost half a century. The allegations have taken a toll, and the race between Ellison and former state Rep. Doug Wardlow (R) is neck and neck.

A recent Star Ledger poll showed more voters, 31 percent, said they had an unfavorable impression of Ellison than those who said they had a favorable impression at 20 percent. Republicans have castigated Democrats after most Democratic officials declined to ask Ellison to step down, either as the Democratic nominee or from his post as vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee -- especially in the wake of sexual misconduct claims made against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearings last month.

The National Organization for Women has called for Ellison to end his campaign.

It's a pretty big deal that NOW has called for Ellison to suspend his campaign, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Making the first post, which gets your thread into the omnibus comments thread, is hardly trolling. It's smart.

"Making the first post, which gets your thread into the omnibus comments thread, is hardly trolling."

That's interesting.
The first post is never, ever trolling.
By definition it can't be.
Interesting brain you've got there Nullifidian.
Are you ever going to tell us what happened to you?

Right now the DR Left is 0-2 in addressing the substance of the thread. If this was about a Republican having the NOW demanding that they suspend their campaign, it would be swamped with faux outrage.

"Minnesota Democrats are worried that allegations of domestic abuse made by a former girlfriend of Rep. Keith Ellison (D) could be a drag on his chances of winning the state's attorney general's office"

The difference between the parties is Republicans don't worry nearly so much about that kind of stuff.

They know if they can just paper over the allegations, that's good enough for their base to maintain plausible deniability.

It's pretty telling that none of the criticism of Ellison is for his associations with Farrakhan and the nation of Islam, support of cop killers, support of open borders, etc.

"his associations with Farrakhan and the nation of Islam"

Is that a guilty association?

Papering over the allegations was Gal Tuesday and Twinpac's response just 2 weeks ago.

They weren't concerned about domestic abuse then, like you're not concerned now.

Of course, if it were an oppo candidate, the DR with be in flames over violence against women and misogyny. Poser.

Has this guy raped anyone? Cause. If so. He should have run as a Republican. Then no one would care.

"Yet again Repubs show standards of decency only count for Dems."

Wihtout horrible Democrats like Hillary, Republicans couldn't say "But Hillary!!!"
Therefore, the Democrat party should disband, and take their most powerful weapon away from the Republicans.
