Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, October 13, 2018

On Tuesday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement sent a 4-year-old separated child from the U.S. to Guatemala City without telling her family she was coming home. When Karla, a pseudonym HuffPost is using to protect the child's identity, arrived in Guatemala, no one came to pick her up at a reunification center near the airport.

Well at least Trump isn't deporting the kids via trebuchet.

Think of the money they could charge righties to pull the lever.

ICE Deporting Young Children Without Notifying Kid's Family

Horrible, appalling, but business as usual in Trump's America.

Yes, but your headline was so vague that nobody could tell what it was about unless they clicked on it.

Yeah, this, and what happened to Elian Gonzales, is no different than what Hitler did to the Jews. Clearly.

Because he doesn't know truth from lies. He's just repeating what Breitbart and Fox tells him. Don't blame him, he's just a victim or propaganda.

"is no different than what Hitler did to the Jews"

Hitler did a lot of things to the Jews.

Sending Jews to death camps was the end, not the beginning, of the things Hitler did to the Jews.

As a swastika aficionado you surely know the truth, so why make a disingenuous argument like you just did?

I'll wager it's because your swastika isn't quite as rehabilitated as you want us to believe.

Ablock, Pincheloaf, JPW and Danni are all directly comparing the deportation of people illegally present in the country to what was going on in Nazi Germany. That's pretty dumb...

As for not giving enough advanced notice the family, yes they should have if they could. According the CNN article that Tor linked to, HHS and ICE were both criticized by a judge for not coordinating better to prevent that, and they acknowledged the point. Still, it sounds like arrangements were made to ensure the child wasn't left alone unsupervised until the parent arrived. The horror.

After being illegally trafficked thousands of miles to and across the US border, then being separated after the parent was arrested for the crime they committed, one more night in a shelter is somehow going to break these kids and is equivalent to what was going on in Nazi Germany? Clearly that's ridiculous.

Why?

Also, it's "unlawfully present."

Immigration status is civil, not criminal law.

You favor treating them like criminals. That's the thing that makes you different from the people you named.

they didn't have a jew-b-que on the 1st day...they worked their way up to it. there's the letter of the law and the spirit of our country represented by the laws we choose to proclaim and as importantly, how we choose to enforce those laws. don't care how they got here..don't care why. that's a different subject. these kids are here, now. i can't even begin to understand where you're coming from.

Most likely because you live in an insulated bubble where you surround yourself with people who think it's a good idea to shout "Nazis! Nazis! Dick Wolf! Nazis!" even though that's been repeatedly proven to be a failing strategy. It's really disgusting to compare Jews born in Germany and surrounding countries to illegal immigrants (who are mostly economic migrants) who knowingly put their kids in a ------ situation.

to start with..nazis were a fine tuned killing machine on a mission at odds with what we generally consider acceptable. as opposed to the----------- ---- killers that've hijacked the insignia of real berserkers in an effort to be seen as something other than the losers they generally are, who want to blame their own lack of success on women and minorities. if i were to believe that you were as adamant about every legal transgression as you appear to be about this then i'd say that you'd had a truly strange life experience.

this striving for the legal high ground...does that include international law too? if so, i'd think that United Fruit would be in the news at least as often as central american immigrants. as a matter of fact i don't see how one can be mentioned separate of the other

The forced separation of women and children in spite their attemps to enter the country illegally is simply unjustified.

Speaking out against this terrible injustice IS justified.

Your attempt to equate Trump beating up on women and children with Elian Gonzalez and the Nazi persecution of the Jews is laughable.

#22 | Posted by PinchALoaf at 2018-10-13 05:12 PM | Reply

Fun fact.

Did you know the Gypsies, the first group of people the Nazis started harassing, assaulting and murdering, were also considered to be living in Germany, illegally.

Fun times!

#23 is comparing arrest and deportation of people known to be unlawfully present with targeted harassment, assault and murder of people within an ethnic group. It's an absurd comparison.

Those kids (if they are really kids) are the responsibility of the Guatamalan Government. Drop them off at the Capital Building along with a bill for the trip.

The US Government is doing the right by returning citizens to their home country. It is the Guatamalan Government that has the authority and responsibility to decide what and how to deal with it's own citizens. The same should be expected of the US Goverment with regard to US citizens.

2. Returning the kid alone without his parents is wrong. The right thing to do is to return the kid to the parent, like we did with Elian.

But if you're trying to broad brush some policy that hundreds of children are being dropped at some remote airport,

then it's just more of the same exaggeration and hyperbole being peddled by Hate Trump sites.
