A former House Democratic staffer accused of posting personal information about a Republican senator online was ordered held without bail Tuesday ahead of his pending trial. Cosko was arrested Oct. 3, one day after a staffer discovered him working on a computer in Hassan's Capitol Hill office, where Cosko was not authorized to be.

"In denying Cosko bail, U.S. Magistrate Judge Deborah Robinson said prosecutors had shown that no conditions could ensure the community's safety if the suspect was released."

Good. Make an example of him.

20 years in Federal Prison.

Just remember the trumplicans want blood now, but whenever Democrats gain power they will do the same and more and righteously justify it on "but this one Democrat did blah, blah, blah!"

Oh shut up. Watergate. Remember? Iran Contra? Remember? Did they serve time? No, they became celebrities in the GOP. Go F yourself.

You're full of crap. Nixon, REagan, Bush 1 & Bush 2 were all guilty of treason, provably. Democratic President who followed them did not pursue charges against those treasonous bastards. Democrats put the welfare of the nation before personal vendettas, perhaps wrongly so. George Bush should be in prison right now for lying us into a disastrous war in Iraq based on lies but he is, instead, painting pictures in his mansion in Dallas. If a Democrat did any of the things those Republicans did you can bet they'd be serving time right now and for the rest of their lives.

Failing to prosecute treason would be the exact opposite of putting the welfare of the nation first.

Why all of the deflections?

I am very curious as to what the DR liberals and progressives think about what this guy did.

Was it good? Was it wrong but justifiable? Was it just plain wrong? Some other take: ________________

So let me get this straight

Collusion with Russia and all of the criminality surrounding it shouldn't even be investigated and is just a political witch hunt but doxing a senator should get 20 years in prison.

Hmmm

He is a liberal for sure, and like Bill Cosby, NOT innocent until proven guilty. So no bail makes perfect sense. Trump also knows Feinstein is guilty of releasing Ford's letter and a more serious crime than rape. Trump also knows Kavanaugh is innocent of Ford's charges even though we all know know he believes in his heart a raped women has nothing to complain about.

The law is just another political weapon, which is applied by an elite class of people against the less fortunate. This helps to ensure that money flows in the right direction, to elites of course, where it belongs.

Very wrong. Both the leak of personal information and the threat.

Given the threats, denial of bail was actually warranted in this case. I agree with the Judge.

I get being pissed. But what are we? Republicans? Let's keep it within the law.

Agreed and it's precisely why we don't make an example out of someone by imposing a harsher sentence than what is called for under the law.

Perfect example of why this country is in trouble. There are actually people who believe their side does everything right and completely ignores all of the facts that prove them wrong. There are so many examples of Dems and Reps doing things just to spite the other side that for anyone to actually post something like this means they are actively refusing to accept reality and just choose to spread hate. These people should be removed from voting.

Very wrong. Put it this way, millions of people want Facebook to be punished because peoples' names and About Me information was compromised. This guy compromised data that allows people to personally identify and contact, even physically, of a person. He did much worse than what Facebook did so logic dictates his punishment should be more severe than social admonishment.

I don't have to pretend that Nixon, Reagan, Bush 1, Bush 2 all committed treason. I don't have to pretend that Trump colluded with Russians. Now, give me a list of Democrats who did similar things.

""I am very curious as to what the DR liberals and progressives think about what this guy did.""

He broke the law, he's in jail, no bail. That seems about right to me. Now I'm curious about what you think about Richard Nixon making deals with the S. Vietnamese before he was elected President, thereby extending the war 4 more years costing 25,000 more American soldiers' lives. Or about Ronald Reagan making a deal with the Ayatollah of Iran to keep our hostages until after the election in exchange for parts for American made jets, or later selling them arms for hostages (different hostage) and using the profits to finance death squads in Nicaragua, or George Bush and his Daddy both lying us into war with Iraq? Donald Trump colluding with Putin? Yeah, I'd like to know how all that works for you?

#16 | Posted by danni at 2018-10-10 12:24 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 2

#16, no accountability for the elite class, a tradition which Kavanaugh continues and who knows where Trump will end up. I'm not keen on impeachment, but rape is worse than lying about consensual sex, an idea foreign to the Republican mind.

The issue here is is this guy guilty before trial or not? What's worse, smearing a political foes name, releasing personal information OR international cocaine running leading to the crack cocaine epidemic, rape and murder?

The application of the law by Judges is political, like all the other BS we are immersed in. Judge Robinson was appointed to the bench in 1988, when #41 was President. The best predictor of Judicial rulings is whether a Republican or Democrat President appointed them. They tend to remain loyal to their constituency.

Democrats don't do everything right by a long shot but on most things they do everything LESS EVILLY than the republicans. There is no good choice but there is a less evil vs more evil choice and if you knowingly choose more evil yes I will argue with you. You better have a better argument than democrats are bad too.

SO basically you admit that we have one party - the Evil Party - which governs in two factions, the Lessors, and the Moors.

They have you right where they want you; on your hands and knees, taking it in both ends.

Your complaint seems to center around your personal preference for giving head vs. taking it up the bum.

Let me make it really simple:

One side votes to raise taxes on itself.
The other side votes to cut taxes on itself.

I assume you're talking about the wealthy elite dems living in The Mansions,

whose tax and spend doctrine neither taxes THEIR income or spends THEIR money.

They tax and spend YOUR money. along with every other working class American.

This is fantastic news! Now that this is part of the public record, it's time for everyone to do their part.

I did mine; I searched for him several different ways, on several devices, on several search engines to assure his name pops-up in any background check 20 or 30 years in the future.

Google is evil but it CAN be used for good...here's some key facts:

Jackson Cosko
- 27-years old.
- House Democratic staffer.
- Ordered held without bail.
- Posted private information about Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah.
- Sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
- Working as a staffer for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas.
- Previously worked with Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., and former Sen. Barbara Boxer of California.
- Also worked or interned with the office of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California.
- Arrested Oct. 3rd, 2018.
- Discovered working on a computer in Hassan's Capitol Hill office, where Cosko was not authorized to be.
- Threatened the staffer who confronted him.
- Threatened to leak emails, information about the health of senators' children and their Social Security numbers.
- U.S. Magistrate Judge Deborah Robinson said that no conditions could ensure the community's safety if the suspect was released.
- Cosko charged with several federal and local crimes in the District of Columbia, including making public restricted personal information; threatening a witness; unlawfully accessing a government computer and burglary of a senatorial office.
- Not computer savvy.

Have some fun and try it yourself - just don't be stupid with personal information!
