Scott Wilson, a veteran actor who played Hershel Greene on the AMC television show The Walking Dead, has died, according to a statement from the network. Wilson was 76. The series' Twitter account responded: "We are deeply saddened to report that Scott Wilson, the incredible actor who played Hershel on #TheWalkingDead, has passed away at the age of 76. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in paradise, Scott. We love you!" ... I recall first seeing him play a villain in the film Judge Dread and thinking he was great.

If it wasn't for his acting skills the walking dead may not have made it passed season 2 aka the zero budget season.

Season 9 starts tonight. Herschel was a pillar in the script but more than that, it seems the cast was closer than the norm.

I Saw him in other things on cable and they never did him justice. Walking Dead brought out his talent in my opinion.

RIP. He seemed like a really cool person to me..

Another program I have no interest in whatsoever.

Hershel's death was one that oddly hurt.
