An intern for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was arrested on Monday after US Capitol Police found shotgun shells in the back of his vehicle. According to a statement from US Capitol Police provided to CNN, officers were called to a "dispute" between the intern and another individual in a vehicle near the US Capitol. Officers observed the unregistered ammunition in the back of the vehicle and arrested 20-year-old Scott M. Frantz around 3 p.m. ET, according to the report.

Thank God I don't live in Communist DC. I literally have hundreds if not thousands of rounds in my house because I enjoy shooting. I have never heard of registering Ammo. Hopefully the supreme court rules this to be unconstitutional.

Is the intern being charged with having ammo in his home, Byrd?

Do you understand the definition of Communism?

Do you understand that D.C. is not run as a Communist District?

Do you understand that the SCOTUS will not be involved in the disposition of this matter?

Do you understand that nearly every thought in your post is invalid and unrelated to the actual story in the thread?

I didn't know that.

Sniper, it's almost unethical to respond to your idiocy -- like making an example out of a special needs child for coming to an irrational, illogical, non sequitur conclusion.

Seriously, talk with your PCP at the VA and ask her to test you for heavy metals poisoning. Especially lead and mercury.

We here in DC don't cotton to no unregistered ammo.

Seriously, WTF.

1st off registration of ammo involves possession and that does not matter if it is in his car or in his home. He didn't register it which I believe yes is a matter for the SC. There is already challenges to the CCW laws heading up to the SC. Hopefully the corrupt DC courts get overruled and this having to have ammo registered isn't a requirement in the future. How is my post invalid? He was arrested for having ammo in his vehicle. There is no laws against it in almost every state in the union. DC has unconstitutional laws in regards to guns and ammo. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

Maybe the better question is more of a time/place question. Like WTF was he doing with Shotgun Shells in his back seat in Washington DC? Was it his intent to fight for his "right"? I mean was he driving his redneck truck with the gun rack and they were littering the bed? I don't think so. And if it was his intent - there are better ways. I think he was just showing poor judgement in general.

An area with gun violence problems has attempted to eliminate certain guns and put controls in place - in an effort to make it harder on the bad guys. Is that bad? No. Is it effective? Not when you can drive a couple miles and buy all that stuff. Just makes it easier to arrest people who are breaking the law and keep them in jail longer.

Easier to arrest black people you mean. Thats what gun control is for. The disproportionate impact is a feature, not a bug.
