Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

"We got A Pluses for our recent hurricane work in Texas and Florida (and did an unappreciated great job in Puerto Rico, even though an inaccessible island with very poor electricity and a totally incompetent Mayor of San Juan)," he wrote Wednesday on Twitter. It's a frequent tactic of the president -- elevate a widely perceived failure or mistake and defend it as a great triumph while attacking his critics. His detractors say it is shameless and sometimes comical gaslighting; supporters say he is just a master marketer who uses hyperbole and always shows strength.

He shows strength? What a laugh. Trump projects strength about as effectively as a toddler with a full diaper throwing a tantrum in church after being told no. Sure, he gets a lot of attention, but it's not the kind a normal person would want.

Trump is simply following the teaching of Joeseph Goebells. These programs work.

#7 The effectiveness of the propaganda model is one of the big "lessons learned" of the 20th century.

Based on Her Emails, Comet Pizza, and the immigrants that took your job, it's also going to be one of the big "lessons learned" of the 21st century.

Oh, look, another GOP politician trying to run statewide who can't sacrifice the Puerto Rican vote to Trump's ego and version of reality:

There was a great news story about 20,000 pallets of water in Puerto Rico that just sat on a runway. FEMA dropped off a lot of supplies after the hurricane and just left them for the local government (in tatters from the storm) to distribute.

But they could only use and distribute so much water in that area. So when they got through other water supplies and needed more water, they went to these pallets. But the water went bad sitting in the sun so many months.

Unfortunately, rather than keeping up supply deliveries as needed, FEMA just dropped it off all and once. Then walked away.

Pure stupidity.

Even the Russians think so.
