Saudi authorities have arrested an Arab man who appeared in video having breakfast with a female work colleague.
..
Local news platform SaudiNews50 said Tuesday that the woman was arrested as well.
..
The video went viral, eliciting a backlash from conservatives in the kingdom, where public space is generally gender-segregated.

The labor ministry said it arrested the man in the "offensive video" with a woman at the reception area of a Jeddah hotel. The man is also accused of "working in a profession reserved for Saudis," the ministry said without explaining the nature of the job.
Their employer was summoned and is accused of violating rules regulating women's placement at work, the ministry added.

They're not a backwards anti-democratic theocracy and obviously desire top rated secular education abroad to encourage such progressive notions as the Labor Ministry breakfast arrests.

I live for this.you have to understand, from my point of view all religious f***ks are just the same. if you believe in sky fairies then you're more or less complicit in this sort of behaviour. why anyone would consider letting this perversion of ethical principles gain a toehold in their country is beyond me. i'd let them immigrate if it was understood there'd be no mosques no burkas no female subjugation. 21st not 12th

That's pretty messed up. I've met plenty of religious people who really try to help their communities and do lot's of charity and good works, and really seem to be honest and decent people. Remember MLK (now considered a Nazi by the SJW's). And I have no problem helping them, because their souls are considered the most delicious to Our Dread Lord Cthulhu.

But what an idiot. If you live Saudi Arabia, you need to Photoshop women out of your videos and replace them when camels, especially if sex is depicted.

Damn, thought they had it made when women were allowed to drive.

They got a long way to go.

Didn't that just happen? What happened after the coup sweeping up the entire "royal" family?

yes, i've known religious people that did nice things. but the nice things they did may have been inspired but certainly never assisted by divine intervention. if you need a sky fairey to explain when sympathy or compassion is called for then you got problems. as far as MLK goes, i remember how he was treated and spoken about when he was alive. i'd imagine that you're to young to remember that but it always makes me chuckle to see him held up with such reverence now that he's dead. that's not on you though

Like Russia, the Saudi government is completely propped up by national oil production. The people don't have to have any power because the government controls the nation's wealth so does not rely on the people for revenue. To fix the problem, all you have to do is get rid of the wealth. Elect politicians and support governments who want to wean ourselves off oil by supporting alternative energy sources. Buy an electric car. Get solar panels installed on your roof. By reducing your oil consumption you reduce demand for oil and thereby reduce the revenue per barrel. By supporting alternative energy sources you help to make the technologies cheaper, which means other people will reduce their oil consumption. When oil becomes pretty much a useless commodity the people will have more power to demand change.

"Man Arrested in Saudi Arabia for Having Breakfast with Woman"

Sounds like Hollywood.

Headline Fail,

The man was arrested for taking a video, not for having breakfast.
