The US and Israel doesn't want peace for Palestinians. If they really wanted peace they would return stolen lands and stay with the borders set out in UNSC Resolution 181..

#2,

Stolen? Those were won in war. You think if it had went the Muslims way, they would be giving land back to Israel they would have "stolen"?

Cry me a river. Instead of trying to "wipe" Israel off the map, maybe they should come to the peace table..

They were required to give the land back in UNSC Resolution 242. They were not allowed to keep lands "won" in the 6 day war.

Laura,

They were not allowed to keep lands "won" in the 6 day war.

"Allowed"? By whom? You really dont understand war, do you? Israel actually gave back some land won during the six day war as a gesture of good will. You conviently ignore that the Muslims tried to destroy Israel. Do you really think they would have given back the country of Israel had they won?

Silly Palestinians. All they have to do is offer Trump a hotel site and he'll switch sides.

But then, Israel would prolly just bulldoze it and put up some apts for rightwing Israelis like they do all over the West Bank.

They're also succeeding.

You act like Israel wasnt attacked.

You act like nothing prompted the attack.

Let me explain in terms you'd understand.

Let's say tomorrow China moves all the refugees from Syria and Iraq to America and decides to give them the state of North Carolina.

You'd be furious. So would everyone you know. So would the states surrounding NC.

It's the same thing that happened when America and Britain gave that area of land to the Jewish refugees of Europe.

People freaked out. Now decades later. The children and grandchildren of those people are still being punished.

In the period leading up to June 1967, tensions became dangerously heightened. Israel reiterated its post-1956 position that the closure of the straits of Tiran to its shipping would be a casus belli. In May Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser announced that the straits would be closed to Israeli vessels and then mobilised its Egyptian forces along its border with Israel.

The mere existence of Israel prompted the attack. It was foretold that Israel would come back. Hell, their language was even lost and re-acquired according to prophesy. Whenever something like that happens, it sort of puts the Muslim religion in a bad light.

In truth, the Six Day War was begun by Israel on the morning of June 5 with a surprise attack on Jordan's ally Egypt that obliterated its air force while most of its planes were still on the ground.

It is true that Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser had instructed the UN Emergency Force (UNEF) to evacuate Egyptian territory. The conclusion readers are evidently supposed to draw is that Egypt, in partnership with Jordan, was preparing to invade Israel.

The UN peacekeeping force was "intended as a buffer with Egypt", Stephens states. This is true, but the implication, given his provided context, is that its purpose was to protect Israel from Egyptian aggression -- which is a distortion of history.

What Stephens declines to inform readers is that UNEF was established after Israel conspired with Britain and France to wage a war of aggression against Egypt in 1956, following Nasser's nationalization of the Suez Canal. UNEF's purpose was not only to secure the cessation of hostilities and serve as a buffer to prevent future aggression, but also to supervise the required withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from the occupied Sinai.

To lead readers to the desired conclusion, Stephens omits additional relevant context, such as how Nasser had been accused by its allies Syria and Jordan of hiding behind UNEF -- such as failing to come to Jordan's assistance when Israel on November 13, 1966, invaded the West Bank to collectively punish the civilian population of the village of Samu for the killing of three Israeli soldiers by the Palestinian group al-Fatah two days earlier.

However, the Jewish population remained strong in other parts of Palestine, thriving in Galilee, Golan, Bet Shean Valley and the eastern, southern and western edges of Judea.[15] Roman casualties were also considered heavy - XXII Deiotariana was disbanded after serious losses.[16][17] In addition, some historians argue that Legio IX Hispana's disbandment in the mid-2nd century could also have been a result of this war.[1] In an attempt to erase any memory of Judea or Ancient Israel, Emperor Hadrian wiped the name off the map and replaced it with Syria Palaestina.[18][19][20]

Hell, even the palestinians dont belong in the Gaza strip...Why arent you arguing for the Jews to get back their ancient lands?

In the fantasy world of the Bible.

People living on that land for generations were told to F off so Jewish refugees could relocate there.

Not relocate back to their towns of origin. Or to an uninhabited area of the world. Or welcomed here to America.

Nope. They had to move to Israel in order to piss off Jesus and start the rapture.

You'd think American Christians would piss off Jesus. But. Apparently it's the Jews that piss him off.

What do you think think the odds are that Facebook will will take down Hamas's recruiting page, because it's still up. And you need to check out some Palestinian children muppet shows on their version of PBS - they still show muppets wearing suicide vests and show kids talking about how they want to grow up to be suicide bombers and kill Jews.

Who the hell is behind stuff like this? It can't be a social movement, it has to be some kind of coordinated and funded effort.

#53 | Posted by HeliumRat at 2018-09-11 08:35 AM | Reply

In the entire history of the Palestinian people, they have never been independent. Yes they have lived there, so they have a claim to the land..... But is it stronger than the Jewish claim to the state of Israel?. The answer is no. When if you want to grant them an equal claim of 50/50, the UN chose the side of Israel in accordance with international law, gave the country overt as Israel.

At that point, the Palestinians had two choices. Accept international law, become productive citizens, work to ensure they are an equal and respected population within Israel..... Or, join foreign armies and try to wipe Israel off the new map and steal what was never theirs. Subsequent generations continue to make the wrong choice of violence.

Are the Israelis blameless? Of course not. They have been hamfisted in their defense against terrorism. If they want peace they need to react more peacefully. But for Christ's sake, it's hard when terrorists are attacking all the time.

As for the West Bank, that is a great example of the Palestinians making their own bed, then getting pissed when they have to lie in it. They joined foreign armies, the armies attacked and got their butts jabbed too them. The Israel's penetrated deep into Israel and Syria, called for a peace, but new it wasn't the last time it would happen, so they retreated back to better defensible positions than their original border. Hard to blame them for that, though it is illegal. But did negotiating happen? No. Only violence from tnt Palestinians.

At every opportunity they chose the wrong way to address the problem. Every. Single. Time.

This may come as a shock to you but not all Muslims are Palestinians. In fact, there are all these other countries that are predominantly Muslim that led the attacks on Israel. Palestine never had much say in any of it.

So explain to me why Palestine suffers for what these other countries did?

And why Palestine shouldn't be pissed for the world just giving Israel their land after World War II?

What is true is that Palestinians were encouraged by their leaders to join the Syrian and Egyptian Army to help bring victory and the destruction of Israel. It didn't work out too well for them. Israel penetrated deep into Egypt quite quickly. They could have held where they were and settled into years of diplomatic wrangling, butt they retreated back to what they felt were better defensible borders.

Palestinians can be upset Thierry stent chosen for tnt be country, but their claim was no better than Israel. International law chose Israel. They didn't lose their autonomy.... They NEVER had it. They didn't lose their land.... They could have stayed in their same home peacefully and worked toward being productive citizens of Israel. They instead chose to act like petulant children that got their toy snatched in the sandbox by the toys rightful owner.

Each subsequent generation perpetuates the cycle of violence instead of doing the right thing.
