Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

China is detaining large numbers of ethnic Uighurs and forcing them into re-education camps to rid them of their Muslim beliefs, Human Rights Watch details in a new report released Sunday. Chinese authorities said that the camps are meant to eradicate terrorist ideology from Uighurs' minds, but human rights defenders say that the ethnic group is experiencing a severe violation of their rights.

The eastern half and western half of China are like completely different countries. Traveling west is like literally going back in time (pun intenteded, despite the fact the whole country is officially on Beijing time). I don't believe mainland China will ever let these territories go, but anyone who travels there (Xinjiang in the northwest, Xizang/Tibet in the south) can clearly see the division between the occupiers and occupied. It's analogous to how "the wild west" was after the US expansion in the 19th century.

Chinese officials burn bibles, close churches, force Christian to denounce faith amid ‘escalating' crackdown
September 10, 2018

FOX NEWS:

The Chinese government is destroying cross, burning bibles, closing churches and forcing Christian believers to sign papers renouncing their faith as the crackdown on religious congregations in Beijing and several provinces intensifies.

The suppression of religious freedoms comes as an official government campaign to "Sinicize" religion by demanding loyalty to the atheist Communist party and removing any potential challenge to the party's power in the country.

"removing any potential challenge to the party's power in the country."

Religion is left alone in China as long it doesn't get political or clash with the CCP. There are lots of Christian churches in China, but if they try to tell people the Pope has more authority than whoever the current party chairman is, they get treated the same way those who follow the Dalai Lama.

Glad to see this posted on the retort. I heard about this in NPR during a longboard drive and there are some horrible things happening in China.. people disappearing and while families being sent away. Allegedly there is a goal to re-educate all males aged 20-40. They're building tons of facilities.

So these muslims have a right? Do they have a document saying this? Rights are allowed by the strong. The weak have only what is given to them. A "right" isnt worth anything unless you can defend it.

china is just doubling down on an ages long held belief in education. they've determined that some individuals didn't get it the first time so they've decided to, free to the individual i might add, offer a re-education opportunity. the chinese are simply helping muslims get in touch with the twenty first

why does every thread dealing with religion always get painted with the racist brush..is it because the religious shtick is based on deception? why don't the holy rollers rain down some fire and brimstone instead of a steady stream of BS.

#23 | Posted by ABlock at 2018-09-11 07:47 AM | Reply

Because if all Muslims were blonde and Scandinavian there would never be a Muslim ban.... even if their women were burka wearing wahabis.

The other reason is that the zionist narrative portrays Jews as a race not just as followers of a religion.

Not quite... at least not for HANFI Islam.

A major chunk of the Koran is all about what to do with your damn money and how to make more.

It is the foundation for Islamic economics and banking... what in European versions is called "Green Economics".

Most countries except for a very few follow these principles... but I can follow some in my personal life.

For example, I never use .. or invest money into... any product that requires needless animal cruelty. Unless it's to feed myself.

I never use a Credit Card. Those are going the way of the dinosaurs anyway.

I never cut down trees or bushes.. or if I do, I plant more.

I never keep a bird in a cage.

I never loan money so I never charge interest. I INVEST and take a share.

Many other principles, too long to go into here....

Point is, if it weren't for such rules, I would not be rich today. I would be just average... or worse.

See post #27.

I never cut down trees or bushes.. or if I do, I plant more.

Countries like Sweden and Finland do this.

For every tree they cut down for timber, they plant 3 more.

And look how IKEA has taken over the world.

Small things.. like having a mindset geared for sustainable environment preservation... WORKS.

#30 | Posted by J_Tremain at 2018-09-11 08:59 AM | Reply

Compare what I said with Trump's mindset.

He doesn't care about green forests and clean waters. He is a frakking locust... or a termite.

He consumes and then moves on to make a mess of something else.

Enemy of wind and solar... friend of coal... frakking bastard.

i'd suggest that what you describe are the merits of education, an understanding of compound interest and conservation and empathy. not one damn word that suggests divine inspiration/intervention. and the fact that others who haven't followed your path but have achieved equivalent success more or less points out just how irrelevant religion is in a reality based world

#32 | Posted by 1947steamer at 2018-09-11 09:05 AM | Reply

not one damn word that suggests divine inspiration/intervention.

Ummm it was in the Koran before the world came up with Green Economics on their own.

Just because these are common sense principles, doesn't mean one should disregard where where they were first mentioned.

In fact, even before Islam, Gautam Buddh (Buddha) also came up with such principles. But they were not economic in nature.

others who haven't followed your path but have achieved equivalent success

Others who have achieved equivalent success have ALL followed "my" path in some way..they ALL have similar rules.. some have a few rules and some have more than a few. But they are remarkably similar.

For example, Paul Getty.. the richest man in modern history (worth more than Bill Gates in today's dollars).. washed his own clothes. LOL

And he never loaned money. etc.

Jeff Bezos.. after becoming a billionaire, still drove an old Volkswagen (for a time... no idea what he drives now). etc.

#33 | Posted by J_Tremain at 2018-09-11 09:13 AM | Reply

The biggest principle in the Koran is "Universal and FREE education".

Look at the countries that try to achieve that and then look at the poor basket cases that do not.

#35 | Posted by J_Tremain at 2018-09-11 09:16 AM | Reply

Point is, some religions are more than just ritual.

That is all.

If some religion expects you to become a monk or a nun and confines you to a monastery and tells you to never have sex or if they want you to donate money.... then yes, those "religions" ARE pure poison.

my mistake..your issue with BOAZ's agreement with china's muslim policy wasn't spiritually based, just a plea to accept everyone as equal and everyone should, if not embrace, at least tolerate multiculturalism with a decided emphasis on religion.
