Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

John Dean, President Richard Nixon's former White House counsel, lamented on Sunday that he was not comfortable calling Donald Trump "Mr. President" because Trump was "installed" by Russian President Vladimir Putin. In a tweet on Sunday, Trump referred to Dean as a "rat" for testifying against his Nixon in the Watergate hearings. The New York Times recently reported that current White House counsel Don McGahn has "extensively" coooperated with special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.

President Rat seems appropriate.

I agree with Dean's sentiment, but not because of Putin or any of his bots. Hillary won the popular vote. The existence of the electoral college was almost certainly a larger factor than Putin. In all likelihood Cambridge Analytica and Brad Parscale had more influence than Russian bots. Its possible those Russian bots were paid for by Republicans, just like Cambridge Analytica and Brad Parscall. The Republicans have a track record of cheating and the electoral college provides opportunities to flip results by changing a small number of votes. But we'll have to wait for Mueller to finish to firm up any conclusions.

I just say Trump.

No need for vulgarity no need to call him President.

Donald Trump is our President. Those who hate him need to accept that, and ridicule his administration accordingly. His time will pass, and the US will move past him.

Voter suppression is why Donald Trump is President, Putin though also helped and Trump was beholding to Putin long before he was a Presidential candidate. He is the perfect candidate to illustrate why Americans should have an absolute right to view the tax returns of anyone seeking the Presidency.

John Dean, President Richard Nixon's former White House counsel

It is impossible to call dean an American.

It is impossible to call dean an American.

He was born in Akron, Ohio... that make him pretty American.

I'm sure you stupid enough to think the article is about Howard Dean, but he was born in East Hampton, New York, so he's pretty American as well.

I don't think Vladimir Putin can understand the installation manual for a Trump, but go ahead and believe that. I think it's funny.

HELIUMRAT

It says in bold type right in the manual. I saw it myself. ""Must have IQ over 80."

It also says "Smart enough to follow orders but too stupid to ask questions."

Putin goofed up.

It was embarrassing for Dems how they reacted when Trump won. Now it's equally as embarrassing all the people who have a hard time accepting reality. But I am looking forward to seeing how this next generation grows up when they are learning that anytime their ego or pride is negatively impacted, they have to make up as much false reality to justify why it occurred instead of just accepting it and moving on with your life.

"Now it's equally as embarrassing all the people who have a hard time accepting reality. "

I know, I know. But perhaps if you accepted reality, you'd realize what a grifter Trump is.

Why? Because he dislikes the president?

go beyond the politics and think about what "Rat" means, in this context and then extrapolate. betrayer, informant, quisling, spy, judas. certainly not a label you'd care to have since forever. perverted survival instinct i'd guess

That's rather optimistic. His judges will remain for life. His pollution will poison for generations.

And if we don't remove him from office and say that this country doesn't tolerate con men presidents, then we are telling a whole nation that the path to success is to lie, cheat, harass, and bully.

Just like president obama showed millions of young black kids that they could grow up to be something besides a rapper or athlete, president trump shows millions of people that you can be a horrible person and be successful, which will create more horrible people. This is why we have to impeach trump. Not because Pence will be much better, but because it will show that trumpism is not the way to succeed in america. Otherwise, get ready for a whole generation of horrible mini-trumps.

Only one political party had to create their own news network to create a false reality for their base to hide inside.

Ailes created fox news after he saw how nixon went down. He thought if nixon had his own news channel, nixon could have been saved. So he created it.
