Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

A new poll has found that President Trump is as strongly disliked by the American public as former President Nixon was shortly before he resigned from office. A new Marist College poll found that 45 percent rated Trump's job performance as poor -- the same percentage who said Nixon was doing poorly as president in a Harris poll, CNN reported Saturday. Veteran reporter Carl Bernstein, who helped expose Nixon and his role in Watergate with fellow Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward, said last week that "what we are watching in the Trump presidency is worse than Watergate."

Trump like Nixon will be forced to resign for manifold offenses. Nixon chose the honorable way out.

What will soon-to-be-ex-President Trump choose as his way out?

@#3

Got a link for that, and how it applies to this Marist College poll?

Nixon had a mental breakdown. Trump appears to be on the verge. Pence is talking like he's preparing to ascend. The two of them may already be discussing the obligatory blanket pardon(s).

In which case the money spent on the Russian probe will be money well spent.

Falling from the most powerful man in the world to a disgraced nobody, scorned as a failure by friend and foe alike, is a painful ego buster.

I hope Pence is paying attention. I know Vladimir Putin is.

This can't possibly be true. Why, I just saw a tweet from Donnie Junior that showed his daddy with a 50% approval rating.

It was badly photoshopped, but still....

I think Junior has too much time on his hands after his disgraceful faux pas. Maybe his office has been moved to the White House basement (out of sight, out of mind) where he can photoshop or cut out paper dolls while he waits for that subpoena.

@#9 ... "Steam Pipe Trunk Distribution Venue" ...

What a coincidence. I watched that exact episode last night (along with a few others).

The biggest difference between nixon and trump is that nixon didn't have fox news to deceive half the country into thinking he's doing a great job and is on their side.

Of course, that begs the question, what would Pres Trump's disapproval be like if he didn't have Fox News as his 24/7 cheerleader?

Hard to say... Nixon didn't have anywhere near the news coverage they have today, good or bad.

Nixon wasn't shameless enough (and the media wasn't gullible enough) to trot out people like Giuliani, Selulow and Conway on a daily basis to spout absolute lies on the president's behalf. Our Congress was also a much more principled weapon during Nixon's time.

Trump is fifty times the criminal Nixon was, and is far more of a threat to the nation and the world. Yet half our Congress is comfortable looking the other way. I don't see this ending the way it should.

I am hardly Anti American. I feel sorry for the lefties that hate our President.

No President can be everything to everyone. Obama just smiled and continued most

establishment / Bush Policy and didn't catch a sliver of the flack The Don is

getting. The Establishment really does have their collective panties in a wad.

Which is very perplexing when Wilbur Ross means even Truump is a Pro Israel Rothschild Puppet.

There has to be multiple establishment factions. I still am unclear on that part for now.

Camp Hillary gonna try again in 2020? Pants suits for everybody!

You actually believe the objections to Trump are the usual partisan sniping? I can assure you, they are far more than that. Take off your blinders, forget about Hillary Clinton, and pay attention. Trump is rotten to the core, a completely unsalvageable human being.

Oh riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight I remember that... let me see... a government walk out instigated by a recalcitrant Congress bent on obstructionist policies that later became so obsessed with obstruction that they were dubbed to most "Do nothing Congress" in history.... a googleable fact btw.

That is the big problem with clowns... good memories... even if they are incredibly short and skewed by stupid.
