A Brooklyn state senator says a woman called 911 on him while he was campaigning on a street corner in Crown Heights for "dividing people" by handing out literature critical of President Trump.

So let's see...

Pres Trump does not like press reports that are not favorable towards him, calling the free press the enemyof the people.

And now we have a supporter of Pres Trump trying to shut down someone she does not agree with by calling the police via the life-in-jeopardy emergency number.

Where is this all heading?

She sounds Russian. Can she prove she is a legal citizen? Deport her just in case.

There should be some sort of financial fine against people who waste the police's time and efforts on this sort of foolishness.

We should celebrate how far race relations have come that the police didn't shoot him or put him in a choke hold like in the Good Ole Days.

I've been wondering why no police have written a ticket or given a warning to these maniacal, stalking, public harrasser's. Only guess I have is it's not against the law in Washington DC and a couple northeastern states?

Sorta like weed is legal in DC but, 'No, you can't have any!!' -The DC Established

I disagree. When anyone feels threatened or like a mediator is needed, they should be able to call the police. That is what they are there for.

It is heartbreaking, though, that people if color aren't treated fairly (in fact their lives are threatened) by the police. But that does not change the standard that we should hold the police to. If you are in a situation that you think could escalate, you should be able to call the police to ensure order is maintained and not feel you will be punished for it. Because that is what is best for society. But it is up to the police to ensure everyone feels comfortable doing that (both the caller and the person being called on).

The Trumphumper that called should have been arrested on the spot for filing a false report. Poor snowflake can't handle the truth about her Orange Fuhrer!

Am I doing that right alt-right Rubes?

Famous since the sixties for left wing protest. Looking back from 2018, the protesters there were absolutely right about everything. The right has always thought they could minimize their importance with ridicule, hate, ostracism but, in the end, they protested to end unnecessary wars that cost millions of lives, Civil Rights for millions of Americans, a reduction in military spending and an actual fair economic system. I laugh at those who put down "Berkely" as the morons that were the "Oakies from Muscogee" who thought that somehow meant they "owned" patriotism. Real patriots work for what is right and good, not for what right wing media tells them is "patriotic."

Free speech is an all direction street no matter how repugnant one considers the content. All sides need to understand that.

We owe a debt of gratitude to the 'hippie' generation, IMO, for causing Americans to begin waking up & shining the spot-light on the travesty that was Viet Nam. At the same time I thank every veteran, regardless of where or when they've served.

Berkeley, tho? I get the sense that they've become unhinged since the successes of the 60's & 70's, & maybe because of those successes. It is almost as if being correct then left a legacy of being incapable of being on the wrong side of any viewpoint today. And also created a 'collective ego', of sorts, to match the narcissism it takes to feel 'correct' in any political stance taken.

The way they've handled their annual 'Free Speech Week' over the past several years, tells me they've lost their way. I defer to, Nuke's, comment in 15 from here, as there's not much to add to it.

Not surprising it's some miserable looking old white lady.

Every generation thinks the next one is making everything go to hell but the boomers are actually going to great lengths to act on it.
