After being blocked by the Trump admin and the Congressional GOP, Democrats have resorted filing Freedom of Information requests in order to obtain documents related to the SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh's time working for the Bush administration. Democrats say they are trying to build a complete picture of Kavanaugh's background. One of the things the Dems are hoping the documents will answer is what the nominee knew about and what was his involvement, if any, in regard to the Bush-era torture programm. Republicans call it a stalling tactic.
After the horrible job the GOP majority in Congress has done at vetting other Trump nominees such as Scott Pruitt, Tom Price and Rex Tillerson, they should be going out of their way to make sure they get this one right.
