Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, August 10, 2018

Senior American national security officials, seeking to prevent President Trump from upending a formal policy agreement at last month's NATO meeting, pushed the military alliance's ambassadors to complete it before the forum even began. The rushed machinations to get the policy done, as demanded by John R. Bolton, the national security adviser, have not been previously reported. Described by European diplomats and American officials, the efforts are a sign of the lengths to which the president's top advisers will go to protect a key and longstanding international alliance from Mr. Trump's unpredictable antipathy. Allied ambassadors said the American officials' plan worked -- to a degree.

There is no doubt Donald Trump is the worst president this country has ever had.

There is no doubt that Russia has the greatest asset they have ever had in the history of Russia/USSR/American relations. Donald Trump is a Russian asset and most Americans who follow politics know it. Now we're welcoming Putin's asbestos? Trump supporters are beyond stupid, we need a new word to describe them. Historically, they are a new phenomenon of stupidity.

Reminds me of this article:

It's Not The Deep State That Hurts Trump -- It's The Shallow State
www.npr.org

...President Trump and his supporters have often complained about the "deep state" -- a supposedly shadowy cabal of opposition bureaucrats buried deep within the government. But perhaps the biggest impediment to the president isn't the deep state at all. It's the "shallow state" -- which exists right below Donald Trump at the Cabinet level.

After all, there's a distinct pattern in the administration. The president makes a claim that seems to contradict longstanding policy. Shortly thereafter, a Cabinet member or two will step up to a microphone and reiterate U.S. policy, contradicting the president. ...

If you dont want to get called out on false equivalencies and whataboutism, you could just stop using that soviet propaganda technique.

No, "every administration" doesn't have to scramble behind the president's back to prevent him from collapsing the global order, either on a whim, an uninformed promise to his idiot supporters, or on putin's orders.

Awwww. Is IHatetheDotard getting upset by being called out on his pathological lying. Hey, Dotard, there's a real DSM V topic for you to look up.

Pathological lying (also called pseudologia fantastica and mythomania) is a behavior of habitual or compulsive lying. It was first described in the medical literature in 1891 by Anton Delbrueck. Although it is a controversial topic, pathological lying has been defined as "falsification entirely disproportionate to any discernible end in view, may be extensive and very complicated, and may manifest over a period of years or even a lifetime".

NATO is run by the USA, a nation that learned and adopted centuries old Imperialist policies of European nations, England at one time being the most dominant. England eventually learned their are less brutal and costly ways to participate in the global economy and slowly relinquished her rule to locals.

US policy is still driven by Kissinger's thinking "If you control the oil you control the country; if you control food, you control the population."

Former WARSAW nations still fear Russia which has made it easy to grow NATO. Most nations in the Western hemisphere resent domination by the USA, but there is no NATO equivalent in the Western Hemisphere, just token resistance from Bolivia, Cuba, and Venezuela.

Gorbachev sought a new more egalitarian world order, but the immediate result of his efforts in that regard was to diminish Russian living standards. The US seized that moment in history to persist with its Imperialist plans and was instrumental in establishing an Oligarchy in Russia detrimental to Russian living standards. Putin reversed or at least halted Russia's rapid decline but kept the Oligarchy.

Trump has a persona business stake in improving relations with Russia. But Pompeo and Bolton are committed to US global domination using the traditional tools of the IMF, Word Bank and overwhelming military force, including NATO. Except our forces must win to succeed in their dubious goals. Guerilla and terrorist groups need only to survive our onslaught. By accomplishing that they win.

By offshoring manufacturing the USA has diminished its ability to dominate the globe through banking and military force. This is probably a good thing because our domination has been catastrophic for tens of millions of people around the world. There can be greater prosperity for everyone through diplomacy and mutually assured disarmament.

As I said back in 2008 and 2009, even before that. The R's don't misunderstand economics, they profited in the recession. They bought up real estate all over the place and are now profiting greatly by renting it out to former home owners. They understand economics but they just don't care how their economic manipulations make life hard for those who aren't part of the 1%. They just don't care. They are economic vampires.

"That's quite a contrast from Mathforth, who believe they haven't a clue."

Pick up a history book if you doubt me. Or just look at growth under Dem administrations v. Rep administrations.

Or, if you want to make it really easy, look at the economy Dubya got, and the one he handed off, and all because he, Cheney, and the Republicans reset the fiscal sights of America. We went from the ability to have the national debt paid off by now, to trillion dollar annual deficits.

And then the Rs voted to borrow an additional $2 trillion, to give it away in tax cuts, where most of it goes to the world's 1%, and more goes in tax cuts to foreigners than for the so-called "middle class tax cut".

If you're saying they're avaricious, I'll agree. If you're saying they do what's best for the economy, I'll argue all day.
