Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, August 08, 2018

Multiple sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell The Daily Beast that Omarosa Manigault-Newman, the infamous former Apprentice star who followed Trump to the White House, secretly recorded conversations with the president -- conversations she has since leveraged while shopping her forthcoming "tell-all" book, bluntly titled UNHINGED. For months, it has been rumored that Manigault had clandestinely recorded on her smartphone "tapes" of unspecified private discussions she had in the West Wing. Audio actually does exist, and even stars Manigault's former boss.

Yeah. Trump probably put her up to it. He's never met a controversy he didn't like.

Tapes should be interesting.

Bet Trump ordersvsessions to have her charged with treason.

DC is a "one party consent" jurisdiction, so if she did tape him it was perfectly legal.

"secretly recorded conversations with the president"

If it's pillow talk, that's cheating.

I'm disappointed in you guys. This was such an easy cheap shot. How did you miss it? ~ LOL

If they were at Mara Lago it was illegal. In the State of Florida it is illegal to record conversations without the other party knowing that you are recording it. It is rarely that I side with Trump but recording their conversations secretly is deceitful and disgusting.

I agree with DANNI. Omarosa is a pig. Having said that Trump is notorious for doing the same thing.

Wait. She did WHAT?!? In THE WHITE HOUSE?!? The girl got some 'splainin' to do...

Danni and Zed are right, secretly recording people is horrible.

When the person is objectively a disastrous pig who needs to be stopped, I have zero problem with someone surreptitiously recording conversations with him. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like anything she recorded would be useful.

Does anyone think they are going to hear anything more disastrous than what Trump says on a daily basis? Is anyone going to be surprised by anything he says? Truthfully, the only way he can say anything that would be surprising and worth listening to is if in private he speaks like the leader of the free world should speak. That would be surprising and hilarious at the same time.

#14 Exactly. We already heard tapes of him admitting to sexual assault before the election and people still elected him. Tapes aren't going to cut it anymore; his cultish base simply doesn't care.

I for one believe in the One Party Consent and being able to secretly record someone. All too often there are very good reasons to record people - their word against yours. I have run into it many many times. I think it is despicable if you are doing it just to be a "jerk" but I can't tell you how many times I wish I recorded people at work alone.

#18 | Posted by rstybeach11 Presidential tapes are interesting. They are enlightening as the character of individuals are exposed in unguarded moments. Want a truly despicable individual in the White House? Lessen to LBJ's tapes. He makes a guy like Nixon look angelic.

#20 | Posted by SpeakSoftly Lyndon was a product of his time. His mentor was a fellow Texan by the name of Sam Rayburn. The tape I've heard was his reaction to the actions of Martin L. King. He was livid to say the least and most Hard Boiled Southern Baptist would have died of shock. Lyndon was tough, and he had an infinite capacity to be cruel. People think that J. Edger had files used to blackmail politcos. He may have. Lyndon definitely did. He used those files to get the Civil Rights Act passed. Lyndon was not evil. But he was Tragic.

There is always common ground to be found, regardless of how small or large, between people with opposing political views.

And this is not the first thing I've agreed with Danni on either. I've come to realize, as Americans, we need to all start seeking things we can agree on first. Perhaps then, a more civil & constructive discourse can take place on the things we disagree on.

BTW, Omarosa is a W**** and nothing more trying to cash in with her book this way. Pathetic &, to use Danni's word, disgusting.

Well, she did get fired in a rather unceremonial way. She apparently locked horns with (Kelly?) so it turned into a turf war for influence with Trump and she lost.

You've probably heard it said that there is no wrath like a woman scorned. Well, that's what we're seeing here ~~ a woman scorned and looking for revenge.

The reports I've read about Omarosa when she was on the Apprentice is that she was a real bitch. In fact, that was one of the things Trump liked about her, the result being, of course, that she landed a job in the White House as . . . what? Nobody ever figured out what she did except walk around the halls with file folders and clipboards.

My point is that Trump knew she was a snake when he hired her. It's should come as no surprise when a snake acts like a snake. It's what they do.

For what it is worth, I heard that both Gen. Kelly and Melania wanted her gone, probably for similar reasons.

#26 | Posted by Rightocenter at 2018-08-10 08:52 PM | Reply

RIGHT

Strange that Melania would be more concerned about Amarose than she was about Hope Hicks who is accompanying Melania's husband aboard Air Force One to a rally.

I watched Hope Hicks put on a real display of slowly walking up the stairway to enter the plane. She was absolutely beautiful all dressed in white with flowing dark hair.

My first response was "Ut Oh."

RIGHT

You may be right but Hope Hicks looked for all the world like the cat who swallowed the canary.

Melania has been getting a little frisky lately taking a stand against her husband's policies. I'm wondering if there's an infidelity clause ($$$$$$ and more $$$$$$) in their marriage contract.
