Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The FCC has come clean on the fact that a purported hack of its comment system last year never actually took place, after a report from its inspector general found a lack of evidence supporting the idea. Chairman Ajit Pai blamed the former chief information officer and the Obama administration for providing "inaccurate information about this incident to me, my office, Congress, and the American people." The semi-apology and finger-pointing are a disappointing conclusion to the year-long web of obfuscation that the FCC has woven.

So trump's FCC is just like trump- When it hears something it doesn't want to hear (like people not wanted to kill net neutrality) the only possible explanation is that it's fake news or some liberal scheme, even if there is no evidence of that. And when the news turns out to be true, there is never any correction or apology, and the morons keep believing it.

#1 "The former CIO, David Bray, was the origin of the theory, but emails obtained by American Oversight in June show that evidence for it and a similar claim from 2014 were worryingly thin. Nevertheless, the FCC has continuously upheld the idea that it was under attack and has never publicly walked it back."

Remind us who was in the WH in 2014.

Although an evaluation of Pai's "conspiracy theory" idea must wait until the report is public, it's hard to square this pleasure of the chairman's with the record. At any time in the last year, especially after Bray had departed, it would have been, if not simple, then at least simpler than maintaining its complex act of knowledgelessness, to say that the CIO had made an error and there was no attack. Nothing like that has come out of the agency.

Man, this must be embarrassing... You didn't get the facts right AGAIN.

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler under Obama never said they suffered a DDoS attack in 2014.

David Bray wasn't appointed by Obama. He wasn't the Chairman.

The 2014 system outage wasn't even said to be a DDoS attack by Bray until AFTER the 2017 "issues."

Only the emails about the 2017 "issues" are heavily redacted. In fact, every single one of them.

So the only FCC that has said it suffered a DDoS attack in 2014 and/or 2017 in under Trump appointee Chairman Ajit Pai.

Would you like to try again?

GOP claims government can't be trusted.
GOP gets control of government.
GOP tells lies.
GOP voters praise GOP for proving government can't be trusted.

Genius!
