Body camera footage shows Atlanta police officers' harrowing rescue of a person trapped in a burning car early Sunday. "This accident could have been much worse than it was," police said in a statement, praising, "the actions of citizens and officers who put aside concern for their own safety and acted to help those in need." A sedan with three passengers crashed into a metal utility pole, causing the engine and front hood of the vehicle to erupt in flames, according to police. When officers arrived at the scene around 4 a.m., good Samaritans had already removed the other two passengers from the back of the vehicle, but they could not help the passenger stuck in the front and closest to the flames, according to police ...

Isn't it strange how the genuinely heroic body-cam videos are never lost the way false drug raids and unchecked police brutality tapes are?

Jones how would you know if they were?

#1 | Posted by IndianaJones, Why not look at all the body cams that exonerate officers of claims of racism or other misbehavior? It is a two way street, everyone has a phone now. BTW, why not bust into a meth lab and be polite? I would rather go on another patrol in Ramadi. Ramadi was much safer. Haji didn't use chemical warfare. Surprise! Police use force. Force is never pretty.

"I would rather go on another patrol in Ramadi. Ramadi was much safer."

Well duh. We had already taken away as many Iraqi guns as we could get our invading little hands on when you patrolled Ramadi.

To keep your dumb ass safe, dumbass.

#4 | Posted by snoofy, Actually, your total ignorance is showing. We allowed every adult male in Ramadi to have an AK or the like and 50 rounds of ammo in their homes. We were only concerned with RPGs and large caliber shells, like 81mm, 120mmm, 155mm etc.Hell I remember letting people go holding grenades, (they use them to fish with in the channels).

"We allowed every adult male in Ramadi to have an AK or the like and 50 rounds of ammo in their homes"

What about handguns?
Were they allowed multiple weapons?

Let's put it this way; what you did there would cause a civil war here, and you'd be on the other side.

"We were only concerned with RPGs and large caliber shells, like 81mm, 120mmm, 155mm"

To keep your vehicle safe on patrol?

Funny how their body cams happen to be turned on when rescuing somebody, and happen to be turned off or "malfunctioning" when they're shooting somebody, planting drugs on somebody, or planting weapons on somebody.

If you're a cop and you're scared for your life, as a citizen, I ask you to find another line of work. If your own safety is your first priority, then stay home, that's the safest place of all.

#11 | Posted by TFDNihilist I am always amused by snowflakes who think themselves authorities on everything, yet have never done a damn thing and never will. Your virtue signaling means less than zero, you have never had any skin in any game.

#11 | Posted by TFDNihilist If you had any ideal what is in a meth lab, you wouldn't think it was such an easy thing to do. Meth cooks die all the time, some burn to death and others poison themselves. But one item is always present- firearms.

"But one item is always present- firearms."

Thank you, Second Amendment, for keeling meth cooks safe.

#14 | Posted by snoofy You do realize that using a firearm in a criminal act will get you residence in one of our state funded residences for about 20 years? You hate guns, nothing requires you to have one. I encourage all leftist to be unarmed.

And my statement holds true, if your top priority is your own safety, then what's safer than staying home?

#18 | Posted by TFDNihilist, The reality of where I live. Within 100 yards of my house four individuals have been sent to prison. One for sexual assault on a child, two for drugs(manufacture), and another for domestic violence. The victim of the domestic violence used my home as a refuge. Down on the corner is a senior member of a MC 1%er. Yea, I keep firearms close.

#15 so then why do the meth labs have guns? What are they protecting themselves from?

#20 | Posted by snoofy at 2018-08-07 11:21 AM | Reply

#19...
What does any of that have to do with my opinion that cops who are scared for their lives should find a new job?
If you're implying that you became a cop to solve your own personal vendeta, then you are only proving my point.

#20 | Posted by snoofy Paranoia seems to be a side effect of methamphetamine, especially in large, continuous amounts. Think tweeker logic.

#21 | Posted by TFDNihilist, labs get busted all the time. But the police never enter till they have protective gear, if possible. One problem is if the cooks have the opportunity they will set their lab on fire, hopefully destroying evidence. They use a lot of flammable material in the manufacture of speed. Nasty crap like mercury compounds and ketone are involved.

#23 | Posted by docnjo at 2018-08-07 04:41 PM | Reply

Clandestine chemists who use mercury in meth production are idiots. As a matter of fact, all chemists who product illicit methamphetamine are idiots. Plus, all a raiding officer has to do is don a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus and go to town.

Why risk 20 years in Federal Prison for something so stupid is beyond my comprehension. Chemists are well-compensated for their trade. We don't need to break the law, than God.

So you're a paranoid cop because meth labs are dangerous, got it.

TFD, I'm pretty sure cops are +10 on the MMPI psychological test. That ain't good.

A loud fart'd make them fire at a cat that got too close for comfort.

It's been a long time, but whenever I'm around a cop, even if he's off duty, I keep my hands in plain sight, make no sudden movements, and don't disappear from their view. I had to call a cop to help lift a family member who fell on the floor and I wasn't strong enough to lift them. The arriving officer kept following me around the house while I got levers and fulcrums to help. Difficult to tell if it's fear or a preternatural sense of doom being in someone else's house.

#27 | Posted by madscientist at 2018-08-07 05:01 PM | Reply

That is +10 on the Paranoid scale of the MMPI psychological test.

#28 | Posted by madscientist Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean that someone is not trying to kill you. Last count I saw 168 cops have been murdered on duty this year.
