Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Former White House press secretary Joe Lockhart said Sunday that President Trump is the first U.S. president who is "incapable of telling the truth." "This has never happened before," Lockhart, who served under former President Clinton, said on CNN's "Reliable Sources." "We've had great presidents, we've had terrible presidents, Republicans and Democrats, but we've never had anything like this -- where we have a president who is incapable of telling the truth."

DOTUS is just so mentally deficient he actually believes what he says. Which doesn't say anything good about his supporters (as if we didn't already know this...).

As for those who aid and abet DOTUS (ie that troll Sanders), they're just soulless disgusting hacks who are shamelessly trying to attain power and money.

In a way, this isn't a surprising development in the "I got mine, f everybody else" attitude that is supposedly the sign of a "successful" person in our society.

It's more folks like you intentionally refuse to see the truth. Usually, because you personally profit from the lies.

The question I've posed twice so far remains the same:

Why does Pres Trump have to lie so much in order to promote his agenda?

Why does Pres Trump have to lie so much in order to promote his agenda?

Like it or not, much of the Republican agenda is not popular.

Spending tens of billions on a wall is not popular.
Child separation is not popular.
Dismantling the EPA is not popular.
Leaving NATO is not popular.
Shutting down the government is not popular.
Dismantling the Affordable Care Act is not popular.
Leaving the Paris Climate Accord is not popular.
Conspiring with a foreign adversary to defraud voters and commit conputer crimes is not popular.

When basically everything you do is not popular, you are forced to lie about what it is you're doing.

I don't know what's worse, having half the country be blinded by partisan politics that they think their side is a bunch of truth tellers who can do no wrong, or that we have a President who can't seem to make a statement without lying or exaggerating. Either way, the country suffers.

#8 | Posted by humtake at 2018-08-06 11:52 AM | Reply

Plausible deniability is at the heart of every nasty thing the Deep State does, just like Putin.

Which doesn't change the fact that Trump is in a class all by himself, because he fails the plausible deniability test every time.

The country suffers because of false equivilancies like that.

"I don't know what's worse, politics as usual, or politics way worse than usual. It's so hard to tell when the worse side is my side!"

#2 so we're supposed to just ignore a serial liar in chief and his enablers?

What's really wrong with this country is that people like you are willing to do so so long as the letter after the liar's name is correct.

#13; Nah in Boaz's mind we shouldn't ignore him, we should bend over and spread our cheeks. That's what Boaz does every day for the dotard.

@13, well Comrade Boazo is the redneck that pretended to be a black guy for a long time here so apparently serial liars stick up for each other.

According to politifact, Trump has managed to be totally truthful 5%, mostly true 12%.

Does that make this headline Half True, Mostly False, False, or Pants on Fire? lol

You're looking at stats that show your leader only tells the truth 17% of the time and trying to turn that into some sort of victory for your side?

Well since 'incapable of telling the truth' is in '', I'd say True.

Now if they said the president lies 100% of the time, that would be half-true.

If they said Sitz posts knowledgable comments that help generate discussion on the DR, that would be Pants on Fire.

Bill clocks in at a hefty 21% Totally True, 26% Mostly True.

That's the high end for US presidencies, only Obama is marginally higher at 49%.

No question Bill Clinton lied about his affair. Duh. But Dennison is in a whole 'nother league. He sees each day as a challenge to his lie output. He's like the all-time champion of the Liars Club. But hey, at least now we can say he's the best at something.

Light, Trump doesn't have to lie. All he has to do is secure the border and tariff the slave nations. All other considerations are rescinded. But at least we get free guns or whatever. I don't like the Presbyterian part of him, because that's pro-life and I'm pro-liberty because it's your body ladies (but yeah, I know how hard a decision that is. I was talking to my gf Penny last night and we talked about that). Anyway, if you can identify my quote you win the internet.

Yeah you guys sure made some hay out of that misstep.

And President Obama eventually apologized for misleading anyone that one time that he did.

When will Trump apologize for misleading and lying to Americans for well over 4000 times now?

#34 Misstep? He personally said it dozens of times, and his staff trumpeted it...

www.politifact.com

...and he knew it was a lie...

www.nbcnews.com

...and Gruber, one of the chief architects of Obamacare admitted they lied, and not just about who could keep coverage, but about the cost of Obamacare - to keep the CBO from scoring it poorly

www.washingtonpost.com

Misstep my lily white ass.
