Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

"If we ask whether hatred of Hillary Clinton, much of it irrational and fueled by decades' worth of outlandish conspiracy theory, played a role in the outcome of the 2016 presidential election -- I mean, that's not even a question, right? Many interlocking factors were implicated in the most bizarre and unlikely election result in modern political history: James Comey's fateful letter to Congress; the disruption caused by fake news and social-media manipulation, some of it apparently by the Russians; the Clinton campaign's overconfidence and complacency. But the orgiastic, "1984"-style outpouring of lock-her-up Clinton hate, weaponized brilliantly by Donald Trump and his campaign, was surely one of the biggest. To some degree it made all the others possible."

Nope. I thought Hillary was terrible but still recognize that responsibility for Trump falls squarely on those who voted first r him, particularly in the primaries.

It was the failed policies of Obama paired with the Dems pushing more of the same with Hillary which gave us Trump. Bernie was not popular because he was a dynamic personality, he was popular because he offered different policies. Now that life is better for 90%+ of Americans, it will give us another Trump term in 2020 and the ability to derail the liberal attempts at judicial activism for 30+ years. Thanks Obama!

#6, Uh, Obama didn't do any of those things. Seriously. I mean Bill balanced the budget, then Bush totally wrecked it. So Obama was crippled by that debt when the meltdown happened. And what war did he end? He actually started new ones. Also, the economy was definitely not rebuilt, not by any measure Pythagoras.

I don't see how that is going to help as the Democrats DID have a good candidate that was "better" in every category except the categories of being a total misogynistic -------- and xenophobic hater of brown people.

And that's the categories that got Humpy elected.

Hillary would obviously have been a better President and would have been MUCH better for the United States and the world.

This is the reason 'out of left field candidates' are constantly elected.

It's been the rule since Carter, save for a Bush sr. The left needs to run a nationally unknown white male with JFK level appearance.

This is the piece of the puzzle you're either ignoring, or not getting: I have no practically no control over who the DNC chooses as its frontrunner. I can only react to it.

Like Twiggy back in the 60s. They said skinny, no-figure-having models were the ultimate sex symbol. I disagreed, but what can you do when all other magazines published women who looked like they were a broomstick in a trash bag.

Now since you weren't in a swing state, your vote didn't count. Same as mine. Hell I'm in George W Bush's precinct for God's sake. How far do you think my vote for Mrs Clinton went? Not very far.

So stop making a martyr out of yourself to prove some ridiculous point simply to be contrary and didn't matter a hill of beans one way or the other.

And I still charge $975 for gigolo services and that includes a free Kiss on the Ass.

Laura, I hope you respect my answers, that I'm not treating you with kid gloves, but like a grown woman. You're not a child and don't deserve to be treated as one.

"You forgot to mention that she rigged the primaries to win." - #29 | Posted by WTFIGO at 2018-08-07 02:00 PM

And just how did Hillary Clinton "rig" the primaries?

Here's a fun little exercise you can do:

This is a link to the 2016 primary and caucus results, including the proportional allocation of pledged delegates (list here).

If you're so certain Secretary Clinton won because "rigged the primaries," then you should be able to provide a comprehensive list of the primaries and caususes that Senator Sanders would have won without such "rigging," along with the change in the pledged delegates that would have given him the nomination.

Knock yourself out.

Both Clinton and Sanders have access to the delegate rules and both knew about super-delegates when they decided to run. Both adopted a strategy to recruit super-delegates to their side. Both are very experienced politicians and both know how the nomination process works.
