Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Trump tweeted Sunday morning about the now-infamous June 9, 2016 meeting at Trump Tower between Russians and Trump campaign officials, including his son, Donald Trump Jr....

Trump and his son have repeatedly changed their stance on the purpose of the 2016 meeting. In a statement to The New York Times last July, which investigators now know was dictated by President Trump, Don Jr. said the meeting was primarily about Russian adoptions.

Pres Trump is still changing his story about what happened.

Is that something that an innocent person does?

All his crimes will be justified to the traitor base in order to beat Clinton, then the pardons will flow.

Trump claims it's not illegal so it's fine.

1. His claim is questionable. It may be a violation of Federal election law.

2. He claims he didn't know about it. From Cohen's possible admission that Trump did know in advance to Trump's promise just days before the meeting that he works soon be revealing important details about Clinton, it looks like he's lying. If it's not illegal them why not just own it before Cohen officially comes public work his claim? Looks like he's throwing Jr under the bus.

3. If Mueller accuses him of obstruction of Justice, this tweet will likely serve as evidence of a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. And before anyone says it's fine for the President to mislead the public about a crime, I remind you that Nixon's articles of impeachment specifically called out "making or causing to be made false or misleading public statements for the purpose of deceiving the people of the United States" as a means used to obstruct justice.

So what? We wanted to get dirt from the Russians on Crooked Hillary that they got by hacking Crooked Hillary.

Perfectly legal cause we do it all the time!

And I didn't know anything about until I helped Jr make up a cover story for something that wasn't illegal.

I just like making up stuff. That's not illegal either!

And in conclusion NO COLLUSION!

That's just a delusion of your illusions.

Was it illegal for hiltasbeast?

#7 She used private citizens, not russian federal agents. She also didn't subvert US foreign policy while still a candidate.

If you weren't a traitor you would shill falsehoods in defense of the dotard.

No. Obviously not. Hillary's campaign never negotiated with the Russian Government for illegally gotten dirt on Trump.

Trump negotiated with the Russian Government for hacked information on Hillary. THAT IS ILLEGAL.

Next dumb question.

For the comedy. I don't understand why anyone plonks him.

CNN, Axios, Vox and MSNBC are obviously running out of clickbait by recycling this story.

It has more to do with Trump's tweet from Sunday than anything else.

I honestly don't care, since this will lead nowhere in Mueller's investigation. It is worth noting that this story was beaten to death last year, you all are getting fauxraged about it all over again.

"since this will lead nowhere in Mueller's investigation"

It's proof positive team Trump thinks you're a chump, and don't deserve the truth. Why do you let them get away with that?

"you think this is going somewhere?"

I believe Mueller's report will detail undeniable crimes. After Rs lose the House, they'll realize they've squeezed the last use out of the Dotard and cut him loose.

Is it too late for Manafort to plead down to lesser charge/sentence? He was in the trump tower meeting. Might that not be valuable positioning considering Gates' testimony today?

"Is it too late for Manafort to plead down to lesser charge/sentence?"

If I were Manafort my concern would be getting into the Federal prison least accessible to the Russian mob. But if he could flip and get his family into witness protection, that might be compelling too.

The bolded parts are the parts that we haven't seen any evidence of, yet.
According to the email chain that was released:
Rob Goldstone sent an email to Donald Trump Jr. saying, "The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary [Clinton] and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father."

We haven't seen any evidence yet, that I am aware of, that indicates the meeting was to pass along any illegally gotten information.
