Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The FBI Jacksonville Division is warning residents of central Florida and beyond of an emerging scam that can target a variety of individuals. FBI Ocala has received numerous reports of the "blackmail scam" in recent weeks.

The scam usually begins when a scammer sends an anonymous letter claiming to have uncovered evidence that the recipient of the letter has committed acts of adultery. The scammer threatens to reveal the information to the recipient's spouse, family and friends, and demands payment in exchange for secrecy. In an effort to avoid detection, the scammer often insists on being paid in bitcoin, a virtual currency that is legitimate but difficult to track. The blackmail scam is not new. It comes in many forms and will continue to evolve as scammers change their tactics to remain successful. It is also unknown how widespread this version of the blackmail scam is currently. However, a similarly worded letter has been reported to law enforcement agencies across the country.

Which reminds me:

Why do husbands tend to die before their wives? Because they want to.

"Simple solution to this: don't get married."

Trump solution to this: Get married three times, twice to women from the old Warsaw Pact nations.

This is proof trump is an idiot. As long add everyone is consenting and adult, no one give half a hump where I dangle my dongle, and it will never cost me half of my savings.

True story:

I was in the card room at a local Country Club with some friends of mine and a very tan guy in his 70's was at a table near me. In walks a couple of buddies oh his and one says to him-"Bucky, I heard you got married again...isn't this like the 5th time, wtf are you thinking?"

The tan guy calmly looks up from his cards and says..."I missed the cheating."

Hilarity ensued.

Surprised this warning didn't happen earlier after Ashleymadison was hacked.

We are getting one in our organization now straight out of episode 3 of Black Mirror. en.wikipedia.org(Black_Mirror) Shut Up and Dance.

The email has your name and an old password (they somehow managed to find an old password) in the subject line.

The email says they caught you on some porn site and they took control of your camera and recorded you having "fun" and recorded what you were having "fun" watching. They claim to have your contact list and if you don't send them $10,000 (the amount varies) immediately they will send the video to everyone in your contact list.

You have 1 day to comply.

If you have not seen Black Mirror yet you are missing out!

Scary stuff.

I guarantee you will tape over all your cameras immediately after watching episode three.

#9 Monty Python had a hilarious skit with a clip playing the lead up to a couple getting together for adultery shot from outside the buildings. They had a phone number on the screen you could call to halt the tape. The running commentary was great. Black Mirror is dark, but awesome.

It would be fun to be able to track down scammers and go Frank Cotton on them.

We should be able to attack back.

I am all for turning the other cheek but to just stand there and take it and to be able to do nothing (because the law won't allow it) is just not very American.

We are only allowed to defend ourselves, we cannot go on the offense.

Sad!
