Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The indictment was damning enough: A former police chief of Biscayne Park and two officers charged with falsely pinning four burglaries on a teenager just to impress village leaders with a perfect crime-solving record. But the accusations revealed in federal court last month left out far uglier details of past policing practices in tranquil Biscayne Park, a leafy wedge of suburbia just north of Miami Shores. Records obtained by the Miami Herald suggest that during the tenure of former chief Raimundo Atesiano, the command staff pressured some officers into targeting random black people to clear cases. "If they have burglaries that are open cases that are not solved yet, if you see anybody black walking through our streets and they have somewhat of a record, arrest them so we can pin them for all the burglaries," one cop, Anthony De La Torre, said in an internal probe ordered in 2014. "They were basically doing this to have a 100% clearance rate for the city."

More from article:

Beyond the apparent race targeting, the report -- never reviewed in village commission meetings -- described a department run like a dysfunctional frat house. It outlines allegations that the brass openly drank on duty, engaged in a host of financial shenanigans and that the No. 2 in command during the period, Capt. Lawrence Churchman, routinely spouted racist and sexist insults.

This is why they elected Trump. To keep this going.

Just because they talked about don't mean they acted on it. I learned yesterday that law enforcement are professionals and they leave their bias at the door when they show up to work.

Just talked about it?

What is it about officers being "charged with falsely pinning four burglaries on a teenager just to impress village leaders with a perfect crime-solving record" that don't you understand?

Ahem, but what is it about right wing denial of systemic, institutionalized racism in the police and justice system don't you understand, Rsty?

Do you think facts can change their minds? It sure seems like you think that.

They now feel empowered.

WHY?!

We all know that facts don't matter to right wing fanatics. Every Trump voter qualifies as a fanatic. They KNEW he is a racist, bigoted, homophobic a*****e and voted for him, not despite that, but because of it.

Remember the snide look from the photographs in the article. One looks like the Tooth Fairy from the Hannibal Lecter movie series "Red Dragon." Another one looks like the Joker. And disgraced Police Chief Raimundo Atesiano looks like J. Edgar Hoover after some botox injections.

The person who flagged #12 as funny knows my comment was accurate and also that they are exactly as I described them. You can laugh but you're still a bigot.

I wouldn't give you a funny flag if there was a STUPID flag! Consider it a gift.

Trump's real appeal is to people who delight in the suffering of others.

Look how much they delighted in Hillary's failure to win.

Look how they say it's appropriate for immigrant children to be taken from their parents and treated like juvenile delinquents.

This is really all you need to know about them.
