More than 40 percent of Americans say that Barack Obama was the best or second-best president in their lifetime, according to a new poll from the Pew Research Center. The poll asked people in an open-ended format which president has done the best job in their lifetimes, using respondents' first and second choices for the survey's findings. Forty-four percent of Americans said Obama was either the best or the second-best president in their lifetime, with 33 percent saying the same for Bill Clinton. Thirty-two percent said Ronald Regan was the best or second-best president in their lifetime. Meanwhile, 19 percent said the same for President Trump, who has been in office since 2017.

Not really surprising, especially when taken in the light of fmr Pres Obama winning both of his elections with more than 51% of the popular vote.

HAHA

and only 2 years of the 48 have passed

Thanks, asshats. you were successful in making OBAMA more appreciated than Reagan, despite all the foamy effort to make him a one timer

As always, even when the --------- think they are winning something, they are really losing everything.

If only Obama could have left a lasting legacy, instead of a trail of executive orders that can be overturned with the swipe of a pen. By the time Trump is done, almost everything Obama did will be wiped clean. Oh... except when Obama made the Bush tax cuts permanent. That will stand.

"If only Obama could have left a lasting legacy"

why, so the usual's can continue to blame everything on him?

his legacy will be one where an arrogant jerk-wad president who very publicly celebrated, (and thus documented) the demise of OBAMAS "legacy" now owns all of it, lock, stock and barrel.

the idea trump "wiped clean" Obamas legacy will prompt nostalgia for the time before we had a total ------- conman as president

none of this is going to end well for trump or his sycophants

Come on now, that's ridiculous!
I myself put him squarely in the middle.

Obama is number one with the scandals, lies and obfuscation. His high crimes and corruption could very well be the greatest con job in the history of mankind. Most people in the USA do not read past the headlines and have become brainwashed compliant pseudo proletariat. It is as if the communist "Agenda" is coming to fruition; so sad and pathetic a free country can become when so many are content to be ignorant.

A good legacy is one that builds on the future. A detestable legacy is one that tries to rip an old legacy apart. It's not hard to figure out which one we are stuck with today.

#9 | Posted by bornfree at 2018-07-12 12:32 AM | Reply

Q: How do you build on the future?
A: A time machine

If it's broke, fix it. What can be done with a phone and a pen can largely be undone with a phone and a pen. Who knew?

Population demographics indicate that over half the population of the US either weren't alive yet or too young to remember the Reagan years.

Compared to Bush or Trump Obama was a thoughtful, patient chess player. But no one should harbor any illusions about his loyalty to bankers and the 1% that actually control our fake Democracy. Like all the other Presidents, he covered for them.

Let me guess. Trump supporter.

I'd ask how you haven't figured out yet that the GOP is telling you exactly what they're going to do constantly but do so by saying it's what the Dems are doing, but you seem brain dead enough that you're beyond hope.

You've even got the required communist reference thrown in although I doubt you know what the word means.

Because the current beliefs about Reagan are just as much a cult of personality as the beliefs about Trump.

The right is largely unmoored from reality because they listen to "news" outlets that brazenly attempt to make reality as they want it to be.

Earth to Fishpaw, Hillary was never President though she did win the popular vote by over 3,000,000 votes regardless of what the Liar in Chief has to say about it.

Trump creates nostalgia for Obama because nobody realized it could get this bad. Nowadays most people yearn for the days of a corporatist president in the political center because at least he didn't embarass us on a daily basis.

I watched a world cup soccer match and the team that lost held the ball longer than the team that won. I'm guessing that you would like to reverse that one? Also in a couple of Wimbledon matches the person that lost also won more games than the one that won, how about those?

Strzok said that it was impossible to say that "people must not have political opinion, everyone does, of course they do, the test is if that is left behind when they do their job."

Obama is number one with the scandals,

Let's see.... there was:

Tan Suit scandal.

Chewing gum scandal.

Michelle bare arms scandal.

Michelle shopping at Target scandal.

The Obama girls Thanksgiving tukey pardoning wardrobe scandal.

Frankly I am surprised he was never impeached over these.

726,

You forgot about the Great Grey Poupon Scandal.

And what about those "Obama phones" ?

And never forget how that evil muslim from Kenya almost got us all Universal Health Care!

Now that would have been a horrible disaster.

We sure dodged that bullet... thanks to Republicans for making sure Americans would never have to worry about getting access to Affordable Health Care. They made sure that won't ever happen on their watch. Whew!
