Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, July 11, 2018

The "Unmasking Antifa Act of 2018," legislation introduced in the House, carries a potential 15-year prison sentence for those caught engaging in behaviors typically associated with the "antifa" movement of anti-fascist activists. Under the act, anyone "wearing a mask" or in disguise who "injures, oppresses, threatens, or intimidates any person ... in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege" would be subject to a fine or up to 15 years in prison. The bill was introduced in the House last month but received renewed attention on Tuesday after alt-right personality Mike Cernovich encouraged his followers to call their representatives and "let them know what you think" about the legislation.

These leftwing fascists are too cowardly to show up if they can't hide their faces. They love to beat up people, but not if it means jail time.

I don't agree with antifa in the slightest and think they should be arrested and prosecute or to the fullest extent of the law.

Which is precisely why this is unnecessary because their actions are already illegal. This is simply the right's version of hate crimes, which I also find absurd.

Does that include Nulli's brown shirt, boots, and swastika caped Super Coddler! disguise?

"The bill was introduced in the House last month but received renewed attention on Tuesday after alt-right personality Mike Cernovich encouraged his followers to call their representatives and "let them know what you think" about the legislation."

No wonder the antifa whatabouters want this to become law. Who would be their goto red herring when obfuscating for Trump's good people Nazi Marchers if they didn't have antifa?

"The bill was introduced by Republican Rep. Dan Donovan (N.Y.) and is co-sponsored by GOP Reps. Pete King (N.Y.), Paul Gosar (Ariz.) and Ted Budd (N.C.)."

More reasons for Nulli to follow through on his promises to vote Republican!

More DRama-

34 States (most of the South, NY, CA, OH and IL) and most of Europe have similar anti mask laws already on the books, this would make those laws nationwide.

True racism goes underground.
"The Bradley Effect" becomes "The Trump Effect"--people won't admit to voting for the racist (or "the racist"), like Trump, because of all the disdain. Then the election comes, and everyone is SHOCKED.

I'll let you all fight it out about our President and what he is and is not.

But FOR SURE there are REAL substantial, dangerous racists out there, and I think it's better to see it in the wide open BECAUSE TOU CAN DEFEAT IT EASIER!

Case in point: the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr leading the civil rights movement won when they went up against Bull Connor, when his open racism was displayed. MLK had a stalemate in a previous campaign when that city's racism was more subtle and underground.

The KKK was a southern Democrat institution.

Southern Democrats go by a different name these days-the Republican base.

And antifa is a boogeyman being spoon fed to you. Much like MS13 you're unlikely to ever meet a member and the size of the organization is likely far smaller than you're led to believe it is by the people who want you agitated and in a state of fear.

Yawn...... it's a very old idea...

Many anti-mask laws date back to the mid-20th century when states and municipalities, passed them to stop the violent activities of the Ku Klux Klan, whose members typically wore hoods of white linen to conceal their identities.

Jail terms for what? Murder? Yeah, it was ok when they went to prison. Now, show me a case where Antifa has murdered someone. At the Charlottesville episode, members of the Alt Right did murder someone and beat others severely. Antifa members were arrested and aquitted because they didn't do anything. And seriously, what black man could ever stick up for the klan? REally? - #93 | Posted by Danni at 2018-07-13 07:51 AM

Your reading comprehension needs a bit of work here. He's not defending the klan by saying that it's good for them to be put in jail for their actions.
"It was ok as long as it was the clan getting jail terms, yes?"
To pretend that him stating that it was ok that the clan was getting jailed is the same as defending the clan is...well...
That's just sad.

In right wing world

Anti-fascism is bad
Social Justice is Bad
Helping poor people is bad
stopping pollution is bad
requiring safe working conditions is bad
paying workers enough to live is bad

News flash if your employee spends 40 hours a week creating YOUR wealth and then has to go to the food pantry on the way home to his studio apartment you are NOT a job creator. You are a Leech on our society

"Under the act, anyone "wearing a mask" or in disguise who "injures, oppresses, threatens, or intimidates any person ... in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege" would be subject to a fine or up to 15 years in prison."

The law is neutral on its face. If passed, it would apply to antifa, KKK, alt-right and any other folks engaged in the restricted activity. I wonder if it can be applied to the off-brand "Micky Maus" in Time Square?

If you haven't heard, it is against the law to wear a mask or a disguise in public in Texas, has been for about 150 years. It started to reign in the Klan, but it applies to Antifa also. If you need a disguise to do what you intend to do, you shouldn't be doing it. I like the tactic the Proud boys have now, if an Antifa so much as touches one of them, they get grabbed, unmasked and doxxed. The police do the same.

Whenever was there a time when only the Klan went to prison when crimes were committed. My memory remembers lots of other people, of all sorts of beliefs, races, etc. who committed crimes and went to prison. KKK members never had a monopoly on serving time for crimes committed.

That's obvious commonsense to most people, but not to antifa shills.

- antifa shills.

Says the Nazi Coddler.

Of course, claiming that pointing out that antifa has nowhere near the influence in this country that racist rwing white supremacist authoritarian nationalists do is in no way "shilling" for them.

That's a logical fallacy used by those who have no good argument in support of armed and violent Nazi Marchers who have 300,000 registered StormFront users, not to mention unregistered users, and a President and party who also coddle them.

Antifa is a mosquito compared to that rwing elephant in the room.

If you are into performative political violence, and not using a mask, you're an idiot.

Is that why the police, DEA, ICE, SWAT, the military and so many others wear masks now?

Are they doing things they shouldn't be doing to people?

For marines, it's part of the Flame Resistant Organizational Gear program.

Just in case people want to brush up on current anti-mask laws.

If I'm on a jury panel hearing a case of a ANTIFA member attacking a Neo-Nazi or Klansmen at a rally, you will not get a guilty verdict from me. I'll nullify.

You'll never get put on that jury unless you're a liar in voir dire, which makes you the last person who should ever end up on a jury panel.

Here it's the first dozen that don't disqualify themselves with honesty about biases.

Whenever they get to the part about police credibility I get disqualified, along with every black person in the room.

"they get grabbed, unmasked and doxxed. The police do the same."

So, assault and privacy violations. Typical fascist tactics.

Yes, yes. The threat to the Union from communists these days is equal to that of rwing authoritarian nationalist fascists.... the False Equivalencies are strong in this one.

But then, that's obviously all he's got.

I'm not sure you know what Fascists or Communists are... You just smear everyone you disagree with as fascist or communist.

You are pretty pathetic.

You are way too honest. And don't get me wrong I do appr4eciate that.

But, "They" don't play fair so why should you?

If you think you have a chance to correct a wrong yo should take it.

What I am saying is that I would not lie but I would not be fully truthful either if I thought I could make a difference.

But, realistically I have way to much to do to be on a jury so I usually use my work as an excuse.

And I still don't understand why they never summon my wife. She would be perfect. She loves that stuff.
