Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The distraught parents of 12 Thai boys, who have been stranded in a cave for weeks with their soccer coach, have not been told whether their children are among those rescued, a family member told CNN. Four of the boys were pulled out of the cave in northern Thailand late Sunday night and are recovering from their ordeal in a newly converted isolation ward at a nearby hospital. But they have yet to see their parents. ... Last week, ahead of Sunday's complex operation to rescue the boys, Thailand's Health Secretary, Dr. Jessada Chokedamrongsook, warned that they would have to be quarantined for a short period of time before being allowed to see their families.

Smart move. That way no one gets their hopes built up and no one thinks that the other parents child got preferential treatment over the others. Wait until they are ALL out first.

Must be alright to treat the kids without their knowledge.

The kids have to be separated for their protection. The parents are obviously too negligent to take proper care of them.

It's for the kids safety. First you hug them because they're alive, then you beat them for doing something so stupid.

I do wonder about the judgement of the coach who led them so far into that cave. The parents probably never imagined that they would go so far is what I expect will come out in the near future.

It was a tradition or something and apparently most of the interviewed parents have great respect for him and credit him with keeping the kids calm during the ordeal. He helped more than Musk.
