"There is not a crisis in the city of Brownsville with regards to safety and security," said Mr. Martinez, who has lived in Brownsville since the late 1970s. "There's no gunfire. Most of the people that are migrating are from Central America. It's not like they're coming over here to try to take anybody's job. They're trying to just save their own lives. We're doing fine, quite frankly."

Illegal border crossings and crime rates have been dropping for years.

So why all the Trumpzi arm flapping about immigration? Is it just faux concern to cover for their racism?

Not to cover for their racism.

He's tapping the latent racism in a classical authoritarian move. It's not hard to see.

Do you guys want immigration reform or not? You can't just repeat what happened in the 80's, giving amnesty and ignoring or neglecting the other aspects of it. Effective measures should be put in place to deter further illegal immigration before there's any talk of amnesty or deferment of deportation.

Sentinel,
Sentence #1: You provide an antagonistic false choice.

Sentence 2: Don't tell me what I can or can not do, and posit a false agenda to me.

Sentence #3, We can deter asylum seekers by not turning their countries into war zones through interventionist economic and political shenanigans.
Dialing up the cruelty on terrified, helpless people, who have fled their homes with only the clothes on their backs, hoping to escape with their lives, and claiming that is going to be a deterrent, does nothing but make Steven Miller and his fellow Trumpzis all giggly and tingly inside.

Wanna know why right wingers so often play the "this before that" game?

It's their way of supporting the status quo.

It reflects how conservatism is most succinctly defined as "resistance to change."

There was NO crisis until Trump created one.

Then he attempted to clean up the mess he made. But how do you take back the needless trauma suffering? By doubling down and making it worse I suppose. More Chaos covers up a lot things. But not this time.

That is not to say there isn't an immigration problem as There is. But it is not going to be solved by a wall. Or by creating more suffering and cruelty in the world. Everything affects everything. If you are going to rule by Chaos you should probably be studying Chaos Theory so you know what you are up against. And don't step on butterflies.

The good news?

Turns out that the perfect solution to Humpy Hate is crying toddlers.

#6 Your meme says deport.

But the policy you support is imprisonment of parents for a misdemeanor first offense, and separation and indefinite detention of children with no plans to ever give the children back.

Why lie about that?

Facts have never been a friend to the GOP.

Facts? Did someone say facts? Who let them facts in here?

Only "alternate facts" should be considered when dealing with something as serious as immigration.

Too many facts spoil the lies!

Facts are ruining America.
