The United States will not ease sanctions against North Korea until it denuclearizes, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Thursday, as he reassured key Asian allies that President Donald Trump had not backed down on Pyongyang's weapons program. Pompeo, meeting in Seoul with top South Korean and Japanese diplomats, put a more sober spin on Trump's summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un after the president's comments fueled unease in Washington, Tokyo and Seoul. He said Trump's curious claim that the North's nuclear threat was over was issued with "eyes wide open," and brushed off a North Korean state media report suggesting Trump would grant concessions even before the North fully rids itself of nuclear weapons.

NK got what they wanted from that silly meeting. There'll be another week of Trump praising Kim's character and good looks before he's theatening genocide against NK again.

they're reporting on CNN that the trump administration will deal with NK sanctions as an undertaking to be overseen under the aegis of the emoluments clause.

With the frequency with which Pres Trump changes his mind, how is any country supposed to take any statement from the Trump administration seriously?

Just how are other nations supposed to divine the tea leaves of what Pres Trump says?

NK cares nothing about the US easing sanctions. China has already asked the UN to ease sanctions based on the cessation of nuclear tests and destruction of the caved-in testing mountain. China and Russia will unilaterally ease sanctions, and BLOTUS will be made to look a dunce again.

Ok--does everyone else see what I'm seeing, i.e., they are making this up as they go along...

The worlds most expensive photo op by two silver spooner blow hards . I feel certain that the two men talked past one another. Un is a man with potential of a future and wanting to head there... Trumplethinskin has very little future left and is looking at most of his self indulgent life in the rear view mirror... and it seems he is trying to drag us back into the past... before the Korean war I think.... way before Un was born.

What sanctions actually affect N. Korea? Sanctions affect Russia because Russia has billionaires and an actual economy. N. Korea is a prison camp where the welfare of the people is not even an issue. Kim Jung Un doesn't care if his people starve or freeze to death in winter. Sanctions are a joke to Kim. Sanctions are not a joke to Putin. Yet Trump wants to take away sanction against Putin and leave them in place for Kim Jung Un. I don't think Trump understands what sanctions actually do. Who they affect. How they should be used.

He's continuing Obama-era sanctions. That's it. "The toughest in decades!"
