A Texas shelter housing child immigrants who are separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border is reportedly overcrowded, highly structured, and full of murals featuring President Trump. The Casa Padre shelter in Brownsville was opened up to a group of journalists Wednesday for the first time since the Department of Homeland Security announced a controversial new family separation policy.

Disgusting. UnAmerican traitor locking up children in prison camps. Amerika!

I sincerely hope that some of the more enterprising kids paint Hitler mustaches on every single mural of Trump.

Casa Padre also has murals of Obama, along with other past presidents, but The Daily Beast choose to mention only the Trump mural. This MSN article shows the Obama mural:

Not unexpected. It's the Daily Least.

#4 #5 Nazis.

Here is the test. Will you let #4 and #5 normalize atrocity? Or will you know what is right and wrong?

I don't see any in between.

Pretending the new policies are the same as the old is a lie. Don't fall for it.

"--Casa Padre also has murals of Obama, along with other past presidents,"

An attempt to share the blame with his predecessors, sorry, Trump is the man who put them in prison camps. Seperated them from their families. You can put up other pictures of anyone you want but it is Trump who imprisoned these kids.

When Obama learns of his portrait on display there I think he'll demand it be taken down. I know I would were it my portrait.

#9 | Posted by danni at 2018-06-14 10:01 AM | Reply

#9 I suspect he might demand more than that.

And savages are the ones who keep them in.

One-thousand kids locked in in an old Walmart forced to see cult-images of Donald every day.

Seems like taking children from their parents and imprisoning them in a Walmart decorated with Trump propaganda is a good description for America in this moment.

"behind the sliding doors is a bustling city unto itself, equipped with classrooms, recreation centers and medical examination rooms.

"Inside, in what used to be a McDonald's, shelter employees served scores of mostly teenage boys chicken, vegetables and plastic fruit cups. In the former loading docks, children watched the animated movie "Moana," dubbed in Spanish. Where once there was a garage, six young people played basketball."

"To accommodate them, Sanchez said, Southwest Key is retrofitting some facilities with smaller bathrooms, smaller sinks, smaller everything.

"We're trying to do the best that we can taking care of these children. Our goal ultimately is to reunite kids with their families," he said. "We're not a detention center. ... What we operate are shelters that take care of kids. It's a big, big difference."

Yep, definitely sounds a "prison camp".

Is a lie. No one is able to see these kids unless they are let in. The kids each get two hours out in the prison yard each day which, I have to admit, is one hour more than you get in Big Prison.

From the cited article...

...Despite Trump's oft-repeated claims that his immigration crackdown is necessary to stop MS-13 gang members from getting into the country, officials at the shelter said they'd never encountered an MS-13 member, Soboroff reported....

The reporter in the video, who actually went inside, said effectively that's what this is. But I'm sure some cranky old guy sitting at his computer knows better.

The government could house and care for these kids more cheaply and much better by keeping them together with their parents. This seperation will do long term psychological damage to these childrens. I heard this morning they took a baby away from its' mother while the child was breast feeding. I just want to know from any Evangelical Christian how can you still support Trump and his administration?

#20 | Posted by danni at 2018-06-14 12:11 PM | Reply

Remember the gulag of prisons Obama was operating from mothballed Wal-Mart stores throughout Texas? That's OK, neither do Repubs, who probably call these facilities 'Freedom Centers'...

Historic presidents as murals make sense. The acting president that is incarcerating them as mural is intimidation and indoctrination.

Obviously this was a fake facility. The real ones are hidden from the press and have torture chambers and machines like the one in that disgusting South Park episode (Death of Eric Cartman, I think).

We can only put a stop to this by getting the word out, throwing the four letter N word at anybody who doesn't believe us, and telling smugglers to flood the border with more kids.

Not even close to being accurate. We are 100% responsible for this. The onus is on us to take care of these people.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

No one is touring the parent's detention centers (or at least not complaining about them). We are complaining about the conditions of the children... re-uniting them with their parents is for the child's benefit, not the parent.

But, you seem unconcerned by the plight of the children due to the fact you think the parents screwed up. This sounds a lot like standard Republican philosophy to me. Punish minor children for the sins of their parents. That is why you want to deport the dreamers. Apparently children brought into this country as minors should be PUNISHED because their parents brought them in.

Just like abortion. Republicans think that a fetus is a person, but are fine with executing that person based upon the transgressions of the parents (rape or ------). Punishing children for the sins of their parents seem to be a common theme for Republicans.

It is very anti-American. It is called collective punishment. It is what led to the American Revolution (Intolerable Acts). It is banned by the Geneva Convention. But, it is part and parcel to the Republican ideology. Who have becoming more and more un-American for quite a while now.

I know! And what a waste of money. Why are we even bothering with the charade. Rip the kid out of the Mother's arms and toss it back over the wall. In front of the parents. They need to be taught a lesson. Pain teaches em good!

Zero tolerance.

These people are animals.

Don't feed them and they won't breed.

There is no law that says we need to care.

It's %100 the parents fault.

Also, they were probably gonna die anyway so no big loss.

In the Trump version of Moana, the title character just stays on the island and starves.

The Trump maladministration is KIDNAPPING little brown-skinned children from their parents and forcing them into PRISON CAMPS and if they reach 18 years in a FORCED PRISON CAMP they are remanded into Federal custody as a IMMIGRANT CRIMINAL.

They do this because the Bible sez it's OK! Just ask our inbred FAS ------ Attorney General, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III. PRAISE MAGA JEBUS!!
