Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, June 14, 2018

A senior advisor to the State Department appointed just two months ago has been quietly vetting career diplomats and American employees of international institutions to determine whether they are loyal to President Donald Trump and his political agenda, according to nearly a dozen current and former U.S. officials. Mari Stull, a former food and beverage lobbyist-turned-wine blogger under the name "Vino Vixen," has reviewed the social media pages of State Department staffers for signs of ideological deviation. She has researched the names of government officials to determine whether they signed off on Obama-era policies -- though signing off does not mean officials personally endorsed them but merely cleared them through the bureaucratic chain. And she has inquired about Americans employed by international agencies, including the World Health Organization and the United Nations, asking their colleagues when they were hired and by whom, according the officials.

Actually:

Maj. Frank Burns: Unless we each conform, unless we obey orders, unless we follow our leaders blindly, there is no possible way we can remain free.

"Frank Burns eats worms!"

Redial,

He was promoted to Lt. Col. when he was being transitioned off the show. Hawkeye heard about it when talking to him on the phone. The actor Larry Linville never appeared on that episode or the one prior.

But his caricature was a Major.

Of course. And any quote from him on that show would have been when he was a Major.

I always like Frank... almost as much as that idiot Col. Flagg that showed up once in a while.

Col Flagg was awesome. At one point he wanted a box of scorpions. A gift for a friend.

In a related development, Trump said today of his new friend, Kim Jong-un: "He speaks and his people sit up in attention. I want my people to do the same."

Later, he said he was kidding. Uh huh.
