Norway will ask the United States to more than double the number of U.S. Marines stationed in the country in a move that could raise tensions with its eastern neighbor Russia. The government in Oslo has grown increasingly concerned about Russia following its annexation of Crimea in 2014. Some 330 U.S. Marines were scheduled to leave Norway at the end of this year after an initial contingent arrived in January 2017 to train for fighting in winter conditions. They are the first foreign troops to be stationed in Norway, a member of NATO, since World War Two.

@#1 ... Don't they just exude love and peace and no one would ever think about invading them? ...

Norway's concern is with Russia.

I doubt if Russia cares one iota whether or not the country they invade exudes love and peace.

Perhaps your connections tell you differently...

Norway is part of NATO.

And what does their ideology or form of government have to do with it? Do we only stand with and protect countries that lean hard right conservative now? Is that where we are going with this President? That's not the America I grew up in. You need help brother.

Norway has a military but it is ranked 36 (out of 136) out of the countries in military strength.

Russia is number 2 and America is number 1. So if Russia attacks Norway they will need our help.

So the answer to your question is that even though they have a military and are part of NATO they are no match for the Russian Bear.

And here I thought you were trained in the military. I guess they just don't make officers and gentlemen like they used to.

#3, you know what I'm talking about.

Norway will and probably has bashed the U.S. because we aren't socialist enough. Most of you liberals use them and other socialist nations to try to make your point how socialism is better than how we live in the U.S. How our military is BAD and not needed.

But now when a threat appears, they come running to that same U.S. you bashed.

Very hypocritical.

But I guess they just don't make smart liberals like they used too.

"How our military is BAD"

Bs. It's the unnecessary amount of money we spend on weapons we don't need, used in countries that are not an existential threat to the US, that is the problem. That and even with our bloated military budget we don't pay our soldiers enough.

These are the things libs are mad about.

I try to pay attention as best I can but I don't remember Norway bashing the United States. I think your paranoia is getting worse, probably should take the pills the doctor prescribed even if they do cause you to put on a few pounds.

When did they make the last smart liberal BOAZ? That is a hilarious comment. I didn't make you post that, you did it voluntarily so now tell us when liberals were smart. Be careful though, because the "smart liberals" of the past probably still support the same things that "dumb liberals" support today.

False. There is a mandatory pay review conducted regularly. The military is paid better than equivalent private positions when total compensation is calculated.

The military doesn't want direct pay increases, the regulations would explode their budget.

So you are now imagining things and attributing them to our allies?

What is very hypocritical? Your imaginings?

Then why are so many military families on government assistance?

1% of them are. There are many reasons. Too many kids, drug addiction, poor money management skills, single earner families, families with medical disabilities, etc, etc.
