Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

American companies have sold more to the world than the world has sold to America for over a decade. That's not a normal trade balance, of course, where the U.S. registered an annual deficit of more than $330 billion with China and about $550 billion with the world last year, but an "aggregate sales surplus" which measures both direct trade and the sales of multinational companies, according to research by Deutsche Bank AG.

It is amazing how it was "Gyna that was eating our lunch" until they put $500,000,000 in Agolf Twittler's Indonesia resort. Now it is our western allies that accused of it via lies.

Essentially, we have colonized the world. The President his from country to country demanding more "taxes."

The problem is that he's shouting it loud, to every country, that America is running your country now.

This will be a hard pill to swallow for the subjugated.

Manufacturing G.M. cars in China to sell to the Chinese does not, in any way, actually change the trade imbalance that exists between the U.S. and China. Did American labor stop being important? That is truly what I take from this stupid argument. WE don't matter, only the profit of corporations and the 1% matters.

#4 the truth is that America and American companies are siphoning wealth from the rest of the world.

The next truth is that there are more jobs in America than there are job applicants.

This exactly like I always told everyone around me. The jobs that we lost in manufacturing were old, dirty industries that no one really wanted in the USA anymore. As a country, the US has taken advantage of the world for way too long and now we whine and complain because some deplorables in redneck, flyover country lost their jobs in light manufacturing and have to retrain for the jobs of the information age because those those old jobs aren't coming back. Meanwhile, the US continues to take unfair advantage of other countries using our MNC's.

I hear that if you don't talk about it then it will just go away.

You know. Like racism.

Like I said time and time and time again on here, cheap resources from other countries has made us richer and richer. Now we are screwing with that to create 1,000 jobs in coal, steel and aluminum.

Republicans are idiots. Period.

In some cases, our complete dominance of the global economy is making US companies complacent. All it takes is some small innovation in another country to quickly surpass a company that has been sitting on its laurels. Trade wars aren't the answer for creating innovation.

Trump says $100 billion trade deficit with Canada.

US statistics say we have a trade surplus of $7.7 billion.
Canada says the US has a trade deficit of $14.6 billion.

Care to explain the difference of $100 billion and the US/Canadian estimates?

nothing about $100 billion by any estimate in the article. Are you pretending that Trump being right that we have a trade deficit means his exagerated number that he pulled out of his arse is right too?
