Here comes private space travel -- with cocktails, retro-futuristic Philippe Starck designs and Wi-Fi. Just $55 million a trip! In an era in which privileged individuals search constantly for the next experience to obsess over and post about on social media, space truly remains the final frontier, a luxury that only the one percent of the one percent can afford.

OMG, that is such a horrific ISS nightmare machine! Even Star Trek uses ergonomics FOR HUMANS. Padded cans.. sounds like a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race.

Gravity "generation", hello?

Do you really think Star Trek accurately portrays space travel?

I see this as a positive step. The first iteration of any new technology is geared toward the wealthy. Think cell phones, flat screen tv's, microwave ovens, etc. New technology is terribly expensive at it's birth and eventually becomes more affordable to the masses. I believe this will be the same path space colonization will take. Look at what Spacex has done to the cost of launching to LEO.

#5,

Your wretched "rich" you liberals are always complaining about would be first.

But then again, it would be all liberals.

Because we all know, most of the "rich" are liberals..

"The Rich Are Planning to Leave This Wretched Planet"

And chances are excellent they are the ones who wholeheartedly contributed to its' wretchedness! They can very well escape from this planet, but they cannot escape The Judgement of the LORD. So...Bon Voyage and Happy Trails to all those idiot morons...

Leaving this planet is a pipe dream for scientifically illiterate people.

And it provides a mental excuse to avoid saving earth.

Fact is it is FAAAAAR cheaper and smarter to make this planet sustainable than to find another one.

But if polluters can make you think we can just find another planet, they get to keep polluting and getting rich from it.

Meh. The entire idea, much less the functionality, wouldn't even exist if it weren't for the rich. The only other alternative is that we live in a society where everyone makes the exact same amount of whatever resource is used for bartering and then they are all forced to donate a specified amount of their resource in order to advance this technology. The current system is fine, the rich invest in new technology which becomes cheaper over time and eventually makes it to the masses. Oh, wait, you thought that cameras in cars started when Honda did it for the first time? They've been in cars featured in the Robb Report for a couple decades.
