The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) inspector general said it is investigating EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt's use of nonpublic email accounts, the latest in a series of federal investigations into the agency chief. The inspector general, an independent office within the EPA, will look into whether Pruitt is keeping a record of his emails, as he is mandated to by federal law, and whether the EPA is searching all his accounts when fulfilling public records requests. Members of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee -- ranking member Tom Carper (D-Del.) and Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) -- released a letter dated May 2 that confirmed the investigation.

Pruitt is no friend of the environment. Nor are his supporters.

Good. Transparency and accountability are always a good thing.

I was very happy with Pruitt as the head of the EPA but he's now had a number of issues that are highly questionable from an ethical standpoint. I cannot overlook that simply because I like some of the things he's doing with the EPA.

someone needs to ask the EPA about the "acceptable" amount of radiation spewing from Fukushima. the problem didn't go away... just the news cycle.

So you think the US EPA has authority over a Japanese Nuclear Plant?

The corrupt Trump EPA is hiding studies on pollution here in the US, what amounts of ufcks do you think they give about Fukishima?

That's it. Pruitt has the following on Trump:
-Pee tape, in CD, Beta and VHS
-Trump tax returns for the past 20 years
-paternity test showing Eric was fathered by a swing shift pit boss at the Trump Taj Mahal
-skeleton of Trump's mother

How else could a guy still hold his job, with all this ---- going on?

You were happy putting a professional polluter in charge of the EPA?
And then you were surprised that he ended up being a slimeball?

Any more proof of stupidity you'd like to post this morning?

Destroying the environment is one of the highest priorities of trump's funders. And pruitt is doing it effectively. So he won't lose his job.

There now appears to be a possible 1.3 million payoff for an abortion. Impeachment may occur if payoffs are Cohens function for Trump.

Pruitt was installed to "monetize" the EPA, meaning the removal of "regulations that limit oil and gas extraction, and mining specifically on lands that are natural treasures, preserved for posterity." Pruitt and these parasite corporations are not necessary or sustainable for any communities.

So unlimited extraction is what the Pruitt vision for EPA.

JeffJ - what do you like, specifically. Every single interview he comes across as extremely slimy - the retribution firings speak volumes. Just evaluating him on an administrative level - this is the kind of leadership you like? It's no wonder we do not see eye to eye much.

"JeffJ - what do you like, specifically."

He likes companies being allowed to pollute more.

The reason I say that is: Has Pruitt done anything else, policy wise, other than allowing companies to pollute more? So what else is there for JeffJ to like?

He likes liberals being upset. Trashing the planet is worth it if it makes liberals cry.

Just like burning down your apartment building is worth it if you don't like your neighbor.

National treasures, wow.. I've got to make some coffee.

You guys seem to be okay with this kind of "vision" for an environmental exploitation administration?

He's a real hypocrite and brought everything upon himself. Much like the Israeli.

And much like those betrayers of humanity they are enabled by our representatives.

JeffJ is much like the general Republican ideal of disallowing public objection, mainly through illegal, immoral and unethical means. Humility presumes humanity.
