Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The Justice Department and the F.B.I. are investigating Cambridge Analytica, the now-defunct political data firm, and have sought to question former employees and banks that handled its business, according to an American official and other people familiar with the inquiry. Prosecutors have questioned potential witnesses in recent weeks, telling them that there is an open investigation into Cambridge Analytica -- which worked on President Trump's election and other Republican campaigns in 2016 -- and "associated U.S. persons."

Alfa Bank Scandal Reveals New Ties to Russia, Cambridge Analytica.

Tonight, news broke that Cambridge Analytica is now under investigation by the Dept. of Justice and the FBI. Tea Pain himself has been contacted by four different press outlets in the past few weeks with folks wantin' to know more about the Alfa Bank scandal and if it ties into the Cambridge Analytica investigation. The answer is a big fat "YES."

No different than Face Book. Government and election laws need to keep up with what can happen on social media. If this is another in the long list of why Hillary lost try again. One thing the HRC campaign was much better at was using social media, problem was their candidate was horrible.

And you don't think their should be an investigation?

"One thing the HRC campaign was much better at was using social media,"

Nope, in the same way Obama outplayed McCain and Romney in this area, so too did Trump outplay Clinton. The only question is: Did Team Trump do it with or without Russian help?

Spectrum Health tie-in is also VERY interesting.

#5 Did you even look at the Russian Facebook ads? A. They were idiotic B. There were more that were in favor of Hillary than Trump. C. They were designed to cause chaos not elect a particular candidate. Move on from the Russian excuse, they are trying to find something in China right now.

#5 I'm not thinking so much of the published ads as I am of the Russian bots and trolls that flooded social media and of whether there was a connection between Team Trump and the Russians when it came to micro targeting voters, especially in swing states.

"A. They were idiotic B. There were more that were in favor of Hillary than Trump."

You really can't see how pathetically idiotic statements supporting Hillary or Black Lives Matter work in Trump's favor?

Hmm. Seeing as it's Fishpaw that made the comment, I believe you specifically can't see it.

Other people can figure it out, though. Russians obviously did.

Well British Company, operating on British soil by British citizens.

Not much the FBI or DOJ can do but grab the free data and include it the massive databases they already have.

I suppose if they find something, they can ask for extradition in which case the Met will tell them to kiss the Queens butt. (Technically an arse)

Major kneeling and arse kissing will ensue but it will not be worth it since they can't be tried in an American Court of law anyway.

Truth is they JUST want the data. Plus a nice vacation to England for a few weeks on the taxpayer dime.

Whistleblower: Cambridge Analytica Aimed To Trigger Paranoia And Racial Biases

...Updated [May 16] at 12:52 p.m. ET

Cambridge Analytica used Facebook to find and target Americans to trigger paranoia and racial biases, a former employee of the data analytics company told lawmakers on Wednesday.

"Cambridge Analytica sought to identify mental and emotional characteristics in certain subsets of the American population and worked to exploit them by designing them to activate some of the worst vulnerabilities in people, such as neuroticism, paranoia and racial biases," Christopher Wylie told the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Wylie worked for Cambridge Analytica in 2013 and 2014, and he's largely credited as the person who blew the whistle on Cambridge Analytica's indiscretions. He's testifying on Capitol Hill as a part of an ongoing congressional probe into Facebook's misuse of users' personal information.

Cambridge Analytica was working with the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election. The firm has denied using the information to target voters.

Wylie told lawmakers that during his time at Cambridge Analytica, employees of its parent corporation SCL Group were in contact with Lukoil, Russia's second-largest oil company. Lukoil is subject to U.S. sanctions and has been linked to Russian influence operations in the past.

Wylie also told lawmakers the SCL Group worked to assess attitudes towards Vladimir Putin in Eastern Europe and complement Russian information operations in former Soviet bloc countries....

so many machinations have been revealed since the election it wouldn't be a stretch to consider actual vote manipulation. that being said you still have to accept how many people went out and cast their vote proudly for trump. four years will have been wasted at a time that's already past critical in areas like infrastructure, health care, public education. a trump with manners wouldn't need russian help at the polls especially considering citizens uniteds ability to funnel dark money

"Well British Company, operating on British soil by British citizens."

The Mercers, Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway are all American citizens:

The firm has been funded in part by Republican donor and hedge fund billionaire Robert Mercer and his family, and has ties to former and current Trump advisers. Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is the firm's former vice president, and White House counselor Kellyanne Conway consulted for the company.

#7 Russia favored Trump in 2016, Senate panel says, breaking with House GOP

"Our staff concluded that the [intelligence community's] conclusions were accurate and on point," the panel's vice chairman, Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-Va.), said Wednesday in a joint statement with Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), its chairman. "The Russian effort was extensive, sophisticated, and ordered by President Putin himself for the purpose of helping Donald Trump and hurting Hillary Clinton," Warner continued.

#13 Except CNN forgot to report the ONLY ones legally responsible for the actions of the company are ONLY those people listed in the articles of incorporation. In this case a British document listing British citizens. Well outside the scope of the FBI and DOJ UNLESS the Yard or Met has asked for assistance in THEIR investigation which they have not since this is 100% a British matter.

Still what will happen is what I "Pegasus" has coined an "Investication".

This is what happens when senior staff loyal to the Democratic party and close to retirement are chosen to fly to England and spend six months in the swankiest hotels, eat the very best foods, shop the best shops and keep the very best female companionship until they are called in for "consultation" by the British government. Then they fly back to D.C., hold a press conference and take all the credit.

An "Investi-cation - because that's what it is. Investigation / Vacation.

I'm hearing 40 people so far chosen at an estimated cost of $27 million. For security reasons, they are looking for a hotel they can totally lease out for 6 months.

How fo I know? I am trying to be one of the lucky 40.
