A Republican gubernatorial candidate in Oklahoma proposed euthanasia for people on food stamps who are too disabled to work. In a Facebook post made by a page purporting to be for OK governor candidate Christopher Barnett, the administrator initially posted a poll about food stamp requirements -- and then made comments claiming euthanasia is a solution to the "issue" of the poor and disabled. In a post made by Tulsa resident Lisa Schwart, screenshots of the thread from the Chrisforgov campaign page that shares a name with Barnett's campaign website revealed the comments. "Most receiving food stamps work, or are disabled," a user commented on the poll post. "Some are elderly." "The ones who are disabled and can't work ... why are we required to keep them?" the Chrisforgov account responded. "Sorry but euthanasia is cheaper and doesn't make everyone a slave to the Government [sic]."

Defending his now-deleted comments, the account admin mused as to why American taxpayers should "have to keep up people who cannot contribute to society any longer?"

The GOP has really become the party of the insane.

They may not all be insane but the insane certainly seem most at home with them.

Disturbing comment for sure. It will likely be a career and social life killer for this guy.

Though it reminds me of a soylent green meme of "keep the homeless to the hungry" to solve two problems with one solution.

Frankly it makes more sense than eat the rich. I mean there are just so many more poor, the rich would barely feed the world for a day, the poor could last generations.

Yeah, we'll just pretend we don't know that much of the Republican Party secretly agrees with that Nazi. "There are good people on both sides in Charlottesville." You guys aren't fooling anyone any more. Nazis!

The biggest difference between this guy and the rest of the Republican Party...Euthanasia...the rest of the party would just prefer to let them starve or die of disease. Actually, Euthanasia is kinder than the policies desired by the GOP.

You guys are right...this guy is a lock to win this race.

All he had to do was outwardly agree with the Nazi party and the KKK.....and why? because the GOP is "full" of them.

waste not..want not. I assume there'll be several new revenue streams created by this progressive approach. a whole line of products made from recycled contributors. Dooney & Bourke will unite with Bergen-Belsen in a surprisingly complimentary homage of ethnic inspired handbags.

Euthanasia really was one of the first creepy things the Nazis did once they had total power.

And yes it was openly opposed by the Roman Catholic church and its parishioners.

It was one of the only times Chancellor Hitler was Boo to his evil face.

Good God, what a sick person. It's hard to deny that a huge chunk of the GOP has happily shed the Bush-era "compassionate conservative" label.
