African Americans make up about 23 percent of that population, but they would make up only 1.2 percent of the people eligible for the unemployment exemption. White people make up 57 percent of the total potential affected population, but they make up 85 percent of the group eligible for the unemployment exemption, according to an analysis of the state's data. Michigan's health department provided The Post with Medicaid enrollment data by racial and ethnic group for every county in the state. This analysis was based on the population enrolled via the state's Medicaid expansion, which health experts say is the group expected to be subject to the work requirements, because enrollees on "traditional" Medicaid are likely to be exempted.

If you're sick, poor, and white don't worry about it. We gotcha.

If you're sick, poor, and black you better unhook yourself from that machine at the oncologist's office and drag your *** directly to the minimum wage job that will put up with you being late all the time and passing out on the floor. "Someone" should have known better than to get cancer. WTF is the matter with you people????

Yet here, and I'm sure in Michigan too, when you are turned down for Medicaid, Food stamps, SEction 8 housing, etc. folks all over the place will tell you it's because you are white. I've heard it hundreds of times, white people think they are the victims because they expect government services to be there for them, as they should be, while black people expect to be ignored, as they shouldn't be.
That is the truth whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

Not surprised. Look at what the state did in Flint. They don't quit and they don't care. Those areas highlighted where the exemption would be are probably 90% white. The gerrymander is real in Michigan and gave the Republican's super majorities when they are not even 50% of voters in the state.

Unless a law specifically states, "White people are not to gain any benefits from anything in this law", it will be considered racist in the 21st century.

Urban and rural settings have exactly the same problems and conditions so the the rules shouldn't take environment into account.

Remember during the campaign when Trump asked black voters to support him, asking "What have you got to lose?" Looks like some black voters in MI are about to find out.
